I'm telling you you're living on fantasy island if you think that'll ever happen.
If you want to drive cars in this game, or any SCS game, you'll have to use mods.
I know they will someday as trucks only have limited appeal and money will talk. It's comes down to $$$ and if it can add to user base who buy map DLC it's worth the payoff. People that would not buy map DLC now will if you sell automobile DLC content.
There is bus coach being added to ETS2 can't see why you can't do that with cars, farm equipment. The one size that fits all abolsute approach to ATS and ETS2 is not practical.
Map DLC won't sell as well without other drivable vehicles in ATS in long run. Your building the North America 1:20 scale sell its makes perfect sense to sell other drivable vehicles. Bigtent approach Is best approach
Bus and coaches are only available as mods in ETS2.
ETS2 has done just fine without cars being added officially, there is also absolutely no need for SCS to add them when there is also tons of mods available to add them, both in ETS2 ans ATS.
If you want to drive cars, either get mods or play a game that allows you to drive cars in a simulated world, SCS have no interest in adding cars to a TRUCK simulator.
I mean, the biggest clue to what the game is about is that its called a TRUCK simulator, so by definition it simulates driving a TRUCK, not driving cars or buses or vans.
There is a reason why these cames are extremely popular with mod authors, because they can put their own twist on the base game, whether its adding different trucks, different maps or giving you cars to drive instead of trucks, why should SCS add in something that mod authors are all to happy to do themselves anyway?
I don't think SCS is interested in creating another sub-economy of "car jobs" to accomodate the small minority of players that just want to joy-ride in their game's world. Nor is it likely that they would have much success in securing licenses for cars in their TRUCK simulator.
I've got nothing against the folks that just want to drive around in cars. But I can not understand the logic that drives anyone to buy a truck driving simulator and then demand that the developer change things to accomodate something that was never intended to be part of the game.
Erm, depends on a person's definition of "simulator". Certain simulators have everything unlocked so you can freely "simulate" any given situation/scenario in a sandbox style... just saying.
