Rest Areas and gas stations
thats been my biggest complaint is the small gas stations you cant get in them safely especially with a 53 ft trailer without getting stuck and they didnt even put in truck stops with fuel bays and parking rest areas for truckers

I'm curious if they plan on modeling the Iowa 80 station whenever they get that far east.

I wish someone made a guide on all the rest stops and such like the big ones and small ones and locations

I did it with a truck/trailer longer than designed, just bump the curb to go in straight

Nope, just bump the curb so you're going in straight and make sure you steer left when leaving or the trailer catches on the pump

OK, so the game uses gas stations instead of truck stops and perhaps there is a truck stop or two somewhere in the game, but filling up your truck at a gas station is down right silly. You never or nearly never see a big rig pulling into a gas station anywhere in the country. Every city has areas where trucks are serviced on a tuck like scale. I am not talking about truck stops on the highway (and boy should those be in the game!) but more about the service centers. Service centers in the USA have mega parking, weigh scales, mechanics garages that are pull-through, trailer parking, other trucks, etc. and they usually look very much 'lived in'. :steammocking:

I can get in these gas stations with a 53ft trailer no problem with no damage, just take very very wide turns. Even coming the other way I can still get in, I do a U-Turn and still get in the gas station perfectly fine (because there is a sign saying wrong way). Just takes a lot of practice and knowing how to maneuver the trailer.

Maybe get in the habit of filling your truck up between jobs.

Plenty of things are not right in ATS, but gas stations in cities are perfectly usable, it just takes some maneuvering skill to get there. Remember, those gas stations are designed for cars, there are no truck routes withing cities in this game with wide gas stations, yet.

To be honest, if you can't get your trailer in the gas stations, you're never going to be able to park the trailer at the delivery point (on the hard setting).

Not once have I had a problem getting into a gas station, I just plan ahead and turn in wide.

Yes, you can use the gas stations and yes you can get a trailer through them. Still it isn't how big rigs gas up in the USA. But whatever...I got a few loads to haul.
