Scaling in graphics setting ?

Could someone please explain what scaling does and will this make a difference to my FPS if i adjust it

It is sort of an anti aliasing type thing. At 100% it renders your screen at the resolution you have set. If you increase it, it renders your screen at a higher resolution and then downscales it to fit. This helps smooth images, but it has a performance penalty since you are playing at a higher resolution than you have set..

If you reduce the scaling below 100% it renders your images at lower resolutions and then upscales them to fit your monitors resolution which makes the image worse, but increases performance.

Why dont you just test it? You will clearly see a difference...game graphics AND fps ;)

It is Super Sampling if im right.

I don't know the terminology behind what it does (like what exactly it changes).
But I know the general outcome, if you turn it up the graphics become sharper like the numbers on your dash gauges get easier to read. In addition the FPS drops substantially at first and then less and less.

It just changes how pixelated your screen will be, or at least that's what it does for me. The higher the % the nicer it will look, but it will sap frame rate the higher the % I have a bottom of the line low spec PC, and I can run this game with 75% scaling at around 15-30 fps

So if I am running at 1920x1080 with 150% scaling does that mean im at like 2780x1620?

yes, your gpu is rendering at the higher resolution, then it downscales it to 1920x1080 to fit the screen. Thus reducing the jagged edges a bit.

Isnt the whole point of a forum to talk to ppl and ask questions ? why spend ages looking on google, not even knowing what to look for when i can ask here, this forum isnt just so ppl can troll about the speeding fines !!!

Oh, that was just an explanation of my "not so helpful" comment ...you asked if it affects the fps, if you would have tried it you would know it. And Super Sampling is well known, now you know what exactly it does. All fine. Didnt wanted to attack you or something like that lol.

Start up your game, click on "Options" then "Graphics"..
