Realistically the Petes should be a bit more expensive and with better reselling valure. Kenworth are a bit cheaper and not as stable recarding the value as far as I read. I've read a lot of reports from Pete owners selling their used rig for more than they paid new.
The equipemnt for upgrading em, the engines, gearboxes, everything.
The only difference is the dashboard. For me the peterbilts dashboard is just a big NO NO.
I mean its bad, compared to the luxurious one you get in kenworth, with all the wood veneer and everything.
As mentioned they are mostly one and the same. One is a little cheaper to buy, and they have a little different dashboard. The only main difference is one has a digital speedo while the other has a digital cruise control readout. All the unlocks and upgrades are exactly the same.
Same chassis. Same tires. Same transmissions and engines.
Its like they rubber stamped them both. Its pretty much one of my main complaints of the game (the other that the maps are small/Donners pass is non existant).
I 'fixed' this by installing an awesome Freightliner mod thats ten times better than the default trucks. (Coronado)

Id suggest looking at some of the modded trucks unless they actually improve and alter these stock ones.
Whats really cool is how many have been added so far and the game just came out.
To respond directly to the OP, id say their isnt a 'best truck'; unless you prefer to see one specific readout display over the other on the dashboard.
They would have been better off asking permission to use some modded trucks the community made for ETS2.
Lots of stuff well beyond what the typical mod builder and user encounters.
