The white number is the current speed limit.
You will have to upgrade your garage before you can hire anybody.
How can i upgrade the garage? I am currently level 3 and havent found any possibility to upgrade the garage.
Go to Garage Manager and select the garage you want to upgrade. It will be an option to upgrade from there.
Just be mindful of the money you're earning before buying trucks and hiring drivers. You might want to level up some more so you can make enough to cover the loan payments.
If you buy your own truck you will get access to the garage manager IIRC, then you can upgrade if you hover over the small picture in the upper left corner. I don't remember if this comes at a special level or if you have to have your own truck first.
This. Hired drivers will actually cost you a little money at first, and they level up slowly.
Also, when you hire them go into driver manager and change their "Skill" focus. It will be set to 'balanced' which you don't want at first. Force them to pick 'Long Distance', then switch it to the different load types. After that you can grab whatever you want including balanced. Just don't let them try to waste some of those starter levels on Eco Driving. Yes, it will save you money (You are the company paying for their gas, now) but you will make more then you would save if they had other job options. At first you will see them have to return to the garage with no load if there is no job they can get, and that costs a lot of money, so make sure they have as good a chance to find a job as possible.
Yes, but not so bad that it makes it any tougher. Your engine will never fail unless you take too much damage. Traffic never grinds to a halt for more than a few seconds. Construction is there but it's a minor inconvenience.
From the barn to Trucker's HQ. I think, it's worth. :)
