Interstates only two lanes?
I live in San Diego and use the interstates pretty much daily. I was surprised to see that the roads in the game are almost exactly like the roads in ETS2. The overpasses are different sure, but the road layout themsevles are small only going up to 2 lanes each way, when in reality they can get up to 8 (L.A.) but normally hang around 4-6 lanes each way.

I asked a similar question in ETS2 as to if their roads were really only two lanes- and most said yes that's how they really are, seeing as how there aren't as many drivers as there are in the US. However, now that the US game is out, it's dissapointing to see nothing really changing besides the scenery.

I mean, I guess I can understand that the Dev team is small, and that this really only is a $20 game... I was just hoping to see a little more realisim when it came to the US is all.

Yup, you can clearly tell that the devs are not from America.

I hope they change some things over time... but it is still a good game.

Also. I'm getting speeding tickets without any signs being posted while doing the speed limit. I follow the speed limit on the GPS, it says "55". I do 55 into town. Then it says "Speeding offence -500" .............."35"

Jeez, you only get a $500 fine for speeding? I always get $1000 fines for no reason. Like I've going 36 in a 55, $1000 speeding fine. It seems like they programmed cop cars to be omniscient too, since I get tickets for not having my lights on from the moment I start my truck if it is night time. Like literally still in the pickup zone, not even on a road yet.

Just did it to me again. Says do "35" so I do 35. Then I get a ticket for "1,000" this time (In city) and as soon as the text goes away- the "new" speed limit went down to 30.

lol Demon. I haven't gotten a ticket for my lights yet, especially not while still in the pick up zone lol. Just needs to be tweaked I guess :)

The changes in speed are not indicated. They have random small lengths of contruction zone... which has no sign and the speed limit goes down and back up faster than you can even see it, since you were zooming by at 55MPH.

They need to add indicators and better signs.

Also, have you noticed the other sillyness?

* Stop signs at traffic lights
* Short on ramps with yield signs
* Scales without closed/open signs, and rather has a pop up message

I'm sure there is a lot more as well.

There are roads in the game bigger than 4 lane (2 lanes each way). There is at least one road that I have found that was 6 lane (3 lanes each way) but they definitely need some larger roads.

Pretty much what you guys said. Have a cop up my ass, doing the speed limit, out of nowhere the speed limit changes with no visual indication other than the GPS, which is slow as it is, and I get a bloody 1,800 fine!

Speaking of speeding. I was doing 33mph in a 30mph zone and got a ticket.. pretty strick eh. you get alot more tickets here compared to ETS thats for sure with all the patrol police cars if you are a speeder.

I just had really BS speed zones in San Fransico...

It was 30MPH... then it jacked up to 55MPH for no reason for about 2-3 car lengths and then to 35MPH... wtf? Sorry devs, it don't work like that.

I think the devs need to come to America and take notes.

I'd be more than happy to show them around. The interstate 5 signs on the on ramps say 5 West or 5 East. The I5 only runs North and South. The I8 runs East and West.

All odd-numbered Interstates are North-South, even-numbered - East-West, but this is not so well-known even in the U.S., believe it or not

I have a feeling you guys are trucking in Early Access. Good thing I chose to wait for a while until one or two patches come, or maybe until Arizona is released.

that sounds like you're watching the wrong speed indicator and reacting too slowly to the change, i forget which, but either dashboard or gps HUD speedometer updates a fraction of a second faster than the other.

LGR mentioned that in his review that it seems Early Access. With a lot of random treads popping up it seems like this game would have benefitted for an Early Access release.

Oh, you misunderstand... it is still a great game and I'm glad to support them. I'd even pay money to have them visit America and take detailed notes of their obervations of the road system.

Their platform, even though it is limited using DX9, is a great one and works well.

Some of the other US regions will be DLC that we have to pay for so I hope SCS make a better job of the roads.
I must admit, I too am a tad disappointed that the roads in ATS are just like our normal motorways. I was hoping that when I purchased ATS, I would be driving along those freeways with at least 4 lanes.
