XBOX 360 Controller left stick (X Axis) for steering doesn't work properly. [FORMATTING HELP]
I am using the XBOX 360 gamepad to drive on ATS. All the keys and axis seem to be working properly except for the X-axis that controls the steering. This the left stick analog on the controller. It picks up the axis but it doesn't function properly. The slightest movement of the stick, left or right, causes it to register to the MAXIMUM input allowed for X-axis. I looked on xpadder at the configuration(not running while trying to play/set controller) and it seems like the game is picking up the direct input for the controller and not the X-Input. Please help if you can!

I have no fix for you but can confirm that the 360 pad works for me and the GFs works for her in ATS just as it did in ETS2, flawlessley.

Go to the controls menu and where it says wheel click the dropdown menu and select Joy pad stick or what ever it's called. Problem solved

Xbox One Elite controller works just fine. Check the calibration in windows.

So what exactly is happening when you turn, does the wheel go all the way over immediately?

Steering is uncontrollable. When my gamepad's left thumb stick is in the resting position, the truck's steering wheel will stay to the left or the right. There is no sensitivity to the stick's axis whatsoever. If I so much as tap the stick, it will trigger the steering wheel to go completely left or right. If you're able to look at the axis on xpadder or any other program, I noticed the "X Input" registers the thumbstick correctly with appropriate sensitivity. However, on the "Direct Input"it responds exactly the same as the game is responding. The slightest tap sends it to the max. Almost as if it were a button and not a control axis. Before you draw to the conclusion of a faulty controller, this one is brand new and the old controller(replaced because of listing thumbstick) gets the same results.

It might be an issue in the controls settings. You axis sensitivity may be too high.

Re-run the config wizard after you selected the controller. That is what fixed it for me on my second profile, 1st profile was fine.
