Alaska DLC?

i as an Alaskan am just wondering if that will be a possibility in the future? and what does everyone else think of it?

I believe the plan is to eventually do an alaska dlc if the community keeps buying the dlcs; But it's going to be after the contiguous states are finished at the earliest.

It's kind of hard to imagine there being an Alaska DLC not only because Alaska is cut off from the mainland, but there aren't that many paved roads in the state. I also have trouble imagining a DLC for Hawaii for the same reasons.

Other than Hawaii, which is indeed cut off, Alaska has a ferry connection to Washington State. But indeed, the road network there is under the smallest 5, place 47 or so. A single DLC is for sure not justified and it might come with BC province and/or Yukon Territory.

My guess is similar to other replies: they'll finish the contiguous 48 states first, and will only add Alaska when they start working on Canada, at least after adding British Columbia and Yukon.

There's a ferry between Washington and Alaska, but still they may only add it if there's at least one land connection between them, so it doesn't seem they "skipped" something.

To get Alaska they first need to add canada since you have to cross Canada to get to Alaska

another way they could do it is by having a boat some where maybe a actual port in California since it is a no dlc map. so that people that just had the Alaska dlc could travel to Alaska . it could also be the same for Hawaii, but i doubt they will do Hawaii because its just some islands that are not connected.

No, you don't. The Alaska Marine Highway ferries start in Bellingham / WA.

I do think Alaska is a viable and possible thing. But if or when is only based on if the map DLC's are bought at a reasonable level to provide financial support and show how popular the game is and whether or not to continue to support it.

Gotta have snow before we have Alaska ... yes I know its mid-summer in the game, but to do alaska and no snow that would be a bummer

They have said (SCS) that they would like to do the map in between latitude 60 degrees N and S if the players are buying map DLC´s (as mentioned earlier) so yes. There are certainly a chance it would happen. (My thoughts is if they do it to latitude 60 N and S why not do it a bit further if the game is alive)
