G29 owner here. If you had previously installed Logitech Gaming Software, it will ♥♥♥♥ everything up. The issues people had, including me, start from GHub issuing drivers in a different name than LGS, which causes issues moving to GHub afterward.
If the wheel is working fine NOW on GHub, don't use LGS. LGS will mess everything else up, then you gotta go into the registry to remove all traces, and worst case reinstall Windows to wipe LGS permanently.
Everything you can do with LGS, you can do with GHub. Actually both are equal for the G29/G920.
TL;DR: If it's working correctly, don't install LGS. GHub fully supports G29/G920 if LGS was never installed.
Is it normal that when ghub recognizes the game and creates a default profile that there is no list of Commands you can drag onto the buttons for easy profile editing?
Yes.
And you should not bind any Keys trough other Software.
Every key can be bound to stuff directly in the game.
