Grain of Salt Achievement (solved)

Ok I was able to get salt to spawn by buying a container trailer the first ownable trailer.

Got my achievement by delivering owned container trailer of salt to Flavorflair or Smithfield with company mod.

Just park with the ownable container trailer at hutchinson repair shop. Go to the sleeping spot and shut off engine. Save game, then sleep and check 3x and if all 3 fail then reload save. Do this until it spawns.

I think the only delivery point is Flavorfair.

2 1/2 hours later I need to stop doing this reload and sleep. I think I must be in a sleep window of a bug that doesn't allow it to spawn right now. I will have to quick job search through my travels until I see it pop up.

I did 2 external contracts then slept 3x and there was a salt job to Flavorfair. I am now 1/2. I do think I was in a bug window for over 2 hours.

It doesnt count to Flavorfair. I dont know what is wrong with this game. Still 4/6 ... I also tried to plan me the orders via trucky and doesnt work -.-

It has to be a load of salt from NAMIQ in Hutchinson, KS to Flavorfair in KS

Do these salt loads have to be delivered within Kansas? I took a load to Moab, Utah and did not get credit towards the achievement.

Same thing happened to me. Took a load to General Mills in San Antonio. If that's not a "food factory", i don't know what is. Instructions did not specify a requirement to deliver within Kansas.

i've been trying everything from quick jobs to cargo market to external market jobs and i still can't get the salt job from namiq in hutchinson to flavorfair in kansas, i've been trying for 3 days of playing the game and still nothing, having said that i realize that making it more of a challenge gives us something to strive for, but making it this hard is ridiculous, this game is supposed to be fun, not frustrating.

One thing to check that might improve your odds is the 'preferred job length' game play setting, make sure it's to the shortest distance (all the way to the left).

These salt hauls are the last things I need to get back to 100%. I've not seen even one after days of looking. For being a salt mine they sure don't produce much salt. I wonder how they even stay in business.

I've got 3 of 6 deliveries achieved and none of them have been salt, but all have been delivered in Kansas.

in case anybody gets stuck on this achievement in the future: its really not that hard once you know this trick (without having to reload your save like proposed here). Here it is:
- after you get the first 4 done (which can go anywhere IN KANSAS from the NAMIQ salt mine in Hutchinson)
- for the last two, buy the sliding tarp trailer and then once on your truck quick travel to Hutchinson (I had no luck with the container trailer but it should work for that too as it has for others, but for me would not)
- once there check the cargo market for the 'salt' load going from the salt mine to any flavorfair IN KANSAS. if not there also check the freight market just in case. Take the load if there is one.
- If not, go to the sleeping spot just next to where you quick travelled too. Then sleep.
- Check again. Take the load if there is one. If not, sleep again. Repeat.
- After 3 times of sleeping if it has not popped at the cargo market or freight market, you will get the message that "this is a rest area but you cannot sleep as you are not tired" or something like that. Go to the game menu, click convoy and 'host convoy'. Once hosting, check the loads again in cargo market/freight market. They will be different than before you hosted. Take the load of salt flavorfair IN KANSAS, if it pops.
- If it is not showing, then end the hosted convoy, but KEEP PROGRESS.
- check the loads again. They will be different again. For me both times it popped first time AFTER hosting then ending the convoy, but you may have to repeat the hosting/not hosting convoy while checking each time, but it will eventually pop without having to take extra loads while waiting for it. For me both times it popped to Flavorfair in Junction City. Both of the final 2 loads can be to the same Flavorfair - as that is how I did it.

Hope this saves somebody some time on this.

Just started on this achievement, wanted to add this. If you're running your own trailer, check to see if its legal in Kansas. I found that my 53 Ft Sliding tarp with rear axles wasn't. Doesn't seem to affect the 40 foot range. Was able to get a run once I fixed that.

I was able to grab a load of salt in hutchinson and deliver it to flavorfair in norfolk ne and it counted i have 5/6 so far, when back to hutchinson and found another salt load for my own trailer(sliding tarp) to grand island, ne and finished the achievement

I concur, I read the requirement, and it says a food factory, which is a (plant), not (storage), as in Hutchinson. I used freight market jobs and delivered to the two sites mentioned here and "POOF" completed as expected.
