Which personal trailer yields the most money ?
Assuming you have all the skills unlocked, currently I use the trailer for carrying heavy machinery etc and can get $100k+ if I'm in the right city using external contracts, does any of the other trailers offer more or is it just down to randomness and how long the trip is ?

Think its just the distance + bonus for valuable cargo / urgent delivery...

If your sole interest is in increasing the number in the top right hand corner of the Route Advisor then (as of v1.48) your best bet is a lowboy or dropdeck trailer and to concentrate solely on Boom Lift cargoes (perhaps with the odd Space Container thrown in for a bit of spice if you choose the lowboy). Of course that will be boring at some level, and SCS may fix the revenue per kilometre of those jobs at some point, but who am I to say.

With this tiny cargo I can get more money than with the heaviest special transport.
It is a SCS bug by the factor of approx. 3 and needs to be fixed by SCS.

Drop deck flatbed trailer carrying booms.

Have you reported it to SCS as such because until someone does it probably ain't going to get fixed.

No bug.

It's related to distance among other things, and your driver skills concerning certain cargo types and driving performance (fuel, long distance, etc). Special cargoes are driven across just a handful of miles, while regular cargoes can go all the way across the map.

The payout also depends on what trailer (or combination) you choose to use. A single lowboy/dropdeck/flatbed will yield less reward than for example a turnpike double, simply because the turnpike double can carry double the amount of cargo.

So multiple factors need to be considered (trailer type, cargo type, distance, to name a few) instead of just being like 'this-or-that trailer rewards the most money'. There is a bit more involved than that.

I know all the influences very well and I compared it on the base of price per distance. But i could not find any reasonable relation between weight, size, urgency, fragility and skills. So I am forced to declare it as a bug.
Question from my side: How can I report it to SCS as a bug?

Yard trucks also tend to make lots of money. I guess a drop deck is a good trailer.
Other than that, can't go wrong whith dryvan/reefer full of dynamite !

The one with a Load available from the location you are at right now.

If you are only using one trailer type, you are leaving more money on the table than you will make-up by taking only the highest paying jobs for that trailer.

You are quite correct in what you say, but the boom lifts have a base reward that is far too high for what they are (the boom_lift2 has the highest per kilometre reward in the game, with only the Special Transport cargoes and the Space Container anywhere near).

On the official forums using a profile with no mods. Link will be in a separate comment to make it less likely that the Steam auto approver bot will block this one.

I was wondering why I am earning $150 per mile with boom lifts
houndog13 Dec 5, 2023 @ 5:49pm
I found after upkeep its better to use no trailers, In the long run they dont make more money unless u want to run the same old boom lift. they dont pay that much more. Put your money into garages and have drivers make u in the millions$

I just made over 411k on a 2072 mile trip at $197+ a mile. My trailer pays for itself.
