Deflation of air suspension
Is there a key I need to hit to keep the air suspension up after I raise it? I have noticed that after a while on the road, my suspension reverts back to it's lowest position after I have raised it. This issue is stressing me out.

Your suspension is reverting back to its default place which is normal for trucks. Chaning the height of the suspension is only for attaching trailers to your truck, not for driving.

Go to Documents >> American Truck Simulator. Open the config.cfg file with notepad.

Locate: uset g_suspension_auto_reset. To keep the truck from auto lowering and raising keep the number at the end, like this: "0"

Thanks Wolfgang I get that but the problem is that on my W900, when it is at it's lowest point on some roads and entries to garages/offramps etc it damages the truck and it feels like I'm driving over an enormous pothole or a gap in the road that isn't visible. That can't be right?

That is very likely due to your bullbar in front of your truck getting stuck.

The w900 is notorious for having low hitbox. If you test carefully, you'll see that it hits far below visible model. I hoped they would fix it when the new came.

Then you can lift it again for the critical situation, like a gravel road to a farm. Beside coupling and uncoupling trailers, height adjustment is there for exactly such situations. Here in Europe often onramps to a ferry. European trucks usually are restricted to 25 km/h (~15 mph) when raised or lowered.
