Precollision Warning Beep

Does anybody know how to disable this? Every time I get close to a wall or something while backing, this loud precollision beep sounds and it is annoying. I assume it's a feature of the VNL, but I don't know how to disable it, if that can even be done.

Don't believe it can be disabled. May try lowering the truck sounds slider in Options >> Audio.

In my opinion that sensor detecting anything other than a car should probably be reported as a bug at the SCS Forums.

I'm driving a different truck in game so I'm not sure.

Are you using the hazard lights while backing? I wonder if the warning system turns off if you don't use them

Actually, it may be working as intended if they have a similar logic that some real cars have. For example, my mom's van has various sensors for avoiding obstacles. That's probably what it is, and not just for cars really.

Yep, hazards on when backing but the beeping still happens. It's quite loud too. I hear it over the engine with the windows down, and the podcast I listen to. It's the only truck I've noticed this with, even the old Volvo doesn't do it.

It might be part of the truck sounds setting, I just hope it doesn't make something like the turn signal sound quiet too. I already checked the gameplay settings and there's nothing there to turn it off like with the reverse beeper. I do believe it's working as intended, I know some trucking companies irl equip their trucks with that system. I was just hoping there's a way to turn it off in game. It's very loud and overpowers every other in game sound. And because so many delivery points are tight, I hear it almost everytime I deliver a trailer.

Just pop the fuse... But seriously, I do not think that you can. Personally, I like it; it's nice to know when I'm seconds away from ramming a cop lol

I haven't heard that one but I hear a warning that something is next to me when I have the blinker on.

I have that too, that's not a problem to me. But when it beeps because I'm right next to a fence while backing, it's just annoying.

Came back to the game after some time not playing and my freightshaker now suddenly has this annoying beep that can't be turned off. Tell me how you can turn off so many other alerts and even remove traffic violations as a whole but you can't turn off the dumb beeping noise.

I hear ya. I still haven't figured out if there's a way to turn it off on either of those trucks. I think it's just those two, but it really ruins those trucks for me.

Is the new Volvo the VNL? If so that's the truck i've heard it in so far as well.
