Question About What Would Run the Game Well
Hello everyone. I've currently been having issues with my PC, and its time to move on from what I currently use. I know this might seem like a bad decision, but I'm on a quite tight budget.

I'm wondering if a (don't judge) Dell OptiPlex 5060 would run the game well on higher graphics with mods and such, plus would head/beacon lights lag while running with this PC.

Thank you for your responses.

Over all, it isn't too bad for a budget rig... The i7-8X is ok, the Ram is ok but 32gb would be better today, etc. and yes it would run ATS just fine...Over all it's ok, but the catch is the graphics option. It's using an integrated gpu which isn't that great for gaming.

Because it's a Dell, it's got a proprietary mobo and PSU layout. The best GPU upgrade you're going to be capable of is going to be a low profile, low power type card. A Nvidia GTX 1030, for example. Which really won't be much if any of an upgrade to the intgrated GPU.

While it would make a fine office computer, or very low graphics gaming; I would try to look for something else.

No need for 32GB unless you are running DDR5 RAM which is new and still extremely overpriced.

16GB is fine for DDR4 RAM.

For around the same price range as a core i7 OptiPlex 5060, what do you think would be a better alternative for High (not ultra) graphics + mods?

What is your budget that you are looking to spend? That would be helpful too.

Hopefully under 300 dollars for a fast quality PC.

I'll be brutally honest...you are not going to get much for that. Low quality parts and then those Optiplex's you are mentioning are small form factor PC's which have a ton of proprietary components that are not easy to replace. A single part could cost more than what you paid for the entire PC.

Graphics cards are going to be a pain to shop for. I would hold off on doing anything for the time being because of the huge DX12 update that SCS plans to release sometime this year, according to Pavel.

The performance bump in 1.47 is nice and it should get better once they get their game engine to work and take advantage of the latest hardware. Will also be a boost to those on the lower end too.

I'm sorry, you're not going to find anything in that price range.

Anything that’ll be decent?

For a while I’ve been using an OptiPlex 9020 which is pretty decent for Medium and sometimes High graphics (when not using mods,) and that worked out for me. All I’m really looking for is a small step up from that. Should I look into something from a different yet similar brand like HP or Lenovo.

I’ve never really known anything about PCs and Computers, so I don’t know what steps to take and what to miss.
The Optiplex 5060, is definately a step up from the 9020 you were using. The integrated GPU (UHD630) in the i7-8X is a hefty improvement over the 9020's i7-3x solution (HD 4500). Plus it's a newer CPU over all.

Don't just take my advice, but i'm gonna say if you were happy on the optiplex 9020, the newer optiplex 5060 (hardware wise) is a step up, and you'll prolly be satisfied. I mean looking at them just component wise, 5060 is a fair upgrade.

I should add, i almost forgot the overall question...

Will that run the game on high settings with a bunch of mods... no prolly not. Youll most likely be getting the performance you get now.

Would I get improved performance without mods? I usually only use a few mods.

IMO
I would strongly advise against any system where you are locked to integrated graphics. From the specs for the Dell there is no PCIE slot for a graphics card(when your funds replenish).
All PC gamers need to repeat ''NO to Integrated Graphics"
Only ever buy a system with a PCIE graphics card slot.
This is important.

If you buy a system, go ahead, use the integrated graphics from the CPU, but make sure you have a PCIE slot for a graphics card later.

edit; oops, appears there is a pcie x16 slot on the 5060.
My above point still stands though, for others
BTW, Intel have had Integrated Graphics on their CPUs for years, AMD only recently.

It's not really a mod issue, it's a hardware issue. Yes it's a step up, but no it's not gonna run anything much better thn what you're using now.

You can build your own pc to do what you are asking for $600-650 If your interested I could list all the parts needed with current prices. I just bought a new PC and upgraded my old PC as well. Been researching pc's so much my heads about to explode. :steammocking:

Well actually above price range is without the OS. I always forget that.
