Wheel Oscillation
Thanks to SCS with providing numbers to the Options menu for wheels because now I have proof that there is something wrong with this game and not ETS2 because Both titles officially use the same engine, yet ETS2 runs flawlessly and I don't even have to have my hands on the wheel; so, I need answers. I use a Moza R9. No filters are applied to the wheel [Pithouse] This is all Pure ATS data sent to the wheel.

Options used in ATS so far to try to remedy the situation.

1] No matter how much Friction is applied the wheel oscillates just less as the number increases but steering becomes so incredibly heavy.

2] Lowering High Speed Centering to almost 0% solves the oscillation issue 100% but I don't wanna play like that as when I turn the wheel it won't recenter itself or as quickly recenter.

3] Engine Resonance is 0% which makes no sense why the wheel is rocking back and forth as I'm driving I also shouldn't have to fight my wheel.

4] The oscillation gets worse with a Trailer attached yet with no trailer there's barely any oscillation but it exists still.

100% convinced its a bug. I did the config files and it's changed nothing except make ATS worse because ETS2 for whatever reason has godlike settings and transferring files doesn't translate well to ATS especially the truck settings like stiffness and so on.

What's insane this problem is all over Reddit Simucube and Moza's. I'm glad SCS released an update with the numbers cause now there is irrefutable proof without the need for Config files that ATS runs like ♥♥♥♥ compared to ETS2 for WHATEVER reason.

If you believe that it is a bug and not your settings, please do this:

Report any suspected bugs on the official SCS Forum at the correct place which is here:
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=309
For ver. 1.48 only.
And to make it simpler for the devs to find the exact cause of the issue (and location) everyone reporting a bug should follow the bug report process:
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16653

Please note: this is the Steam player to player forum, NOT SCS, the actual game developers.

Thanks

so i to have a moza R9 and found that the wheel wiggles back and forth between 1000 RPM and 1400 when under like 4 mph i have been tinkering around and may have found a temporary solution if it is a bug.
i have found that if you change your base FFB from linear to s or even exponential it significantly drops the wiggles i then dragged the first + down a little more to make it almost disappear only down side is the wheel will have more of a lighter feeling but for me its a lot better than having it shake my desk apart. hope this helps

What's up buddy. So I did that awhile ago, I wanna say roughly 3 months ago cause I was given that same advice according to Bainzy who's in the Moza Discord/Reddit and you're right its much lighter. You kind of get the same results lowering Overall Gain FFB to about 50% but definitely not how I wanna play. I'll try lowering the first (+) to 5,3 again to just tolerate it, because, I did enjoy ATS on controller but once I got the wheel yeah its no longer fun which is the opposite idea XD.

As it came just to mind....if that happend in the last months and not at the initial point of your problems......have you checked if lowering/turning of the uneven surface simulation (can be found under gameplay) may reduce that?

I played it prior to uneven road surfaces update and it still happened, it falls in line with what the other person said which was the trailer wagging the truck.

I reported it as a bug because it 100% is a bug and uninstalled it. I'll wait for the next update for ATS to install and see if anything has been remedied.

Edit: This is why in the earlier post I said to ryu

"Yeah I copied it over like we discussed last time roughly last year and that hasn't solved my issue and has been uninstalled until recent update"

I noticed there have been some issues with early r9 base. Do you have a V2 base from the r9 or one of the older ones? Might be the issue maby, I dunno.
And if someone could maby if the r5 have the same issue like this in ATS or ETS?
Hope you get it solved Dan.

This has been what stopped me, & continues to stop me from even playing the game for a LONG time now. I have this exact same issue with my DFGT(old wheel, but still works well enough for me in every single other game).

Every so often I check back in to see if it's still an issue & It's always there, & there are always more recent posts about it... Maybe someday I will actually get to enjoy the game I paid for. :steambored:

At last someone with the same issue, I use the Moza R5, I brought this issue up in here months ago and yes, my steering wheel oscillates slightly still after many months of fiddling around with all the settings

This is very annoying indeed and have not really been playing it much lately, I hope someone can come up with a fix for this.

When I accelerate the oscillation starts, when I come off the power the oscillation stops, so there is a correlation here somehow
