Is there reason why my controller setup keeps on resetting? Also my steam keeps crashing whenever i have the controller setup open . THIS IS SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ANNOYING. SOMEONE PLZ HELP

everytime i go to play the one game that keeps me sane and relaxed, i have to spend time re configurating my buttons, this takes times and is sooooooooooo annoying, then my steam AND ATS crashes. very frustrating. i just wanna play in peace, WHY MUST THERE ALWAYS BE A PROBLEM WITH EVERY GAME FOR CHRISTS SAKE.

yeah no . its not clearly a user problem when everyone else is having this same problem too smarty pants. explain how its a user problem ... its obvioulsy A STEAM BUG if everytime i open the controller configuration it crashes before im able to input everything.. and furthermore my buttons shouldnt be re setting everytime i close the game. so explain tf

Use the in-game controller configuration. I have never had an issue with my controls resetting constantly. Ive only had it happen maybe once or twice when I havent played in a long, long time.

Never had any problems with y Xbox series controller, never set it in Steam neither, always done it with controller configuration in game. Maybe thats the problem on your side ( and for others) I don't know but from what i've seen, people with problems with their controllers always seems to use Steam controller input to setup their controllers.

In game config as in where it says buttons and i change them there? The thing is , the game doesn't let me select controller buttons, only keyboard buttons and i wont be able to have multiple actions for one button... lmk if this is the right place plz

Soooo, in this case, my one drive wasnt even activated so that ruled that out. i also just deleted one drive entirely and i still have the same problem. even deleted mods, still no luck. thank you tho. and if that was you guys's reason, i dont know how they could ever let one drive interfere with anything either, this is such a joke .

the in game config wont let me select my controller buttons as an option, nor will i be able to have multiple actions for each button. also , ive always used the steam controller input, and have NEVER had a problem up until now... so honestly i don't know man . so sick of this

You can not use Steam Input AND the in-game configuration. Only either or.

Mouse: Mad Catz RAT8
Keyboard: ROG CLAYMORE II
Saitek Side Panel Control Deck
Turtle Beach Recon Controller
X52 Professional Space/Flight H.O.T.A.S.
TH8 RS Shifter
Thrustmaster T300RS Racing wheel

All these work like a charm, No any problem at all.

And i dont use Steam Cloud.

I am not frekking smarty pant, because fact is i dont have your problems, AND, When you write topic, You dont need type with horse size fonts, I see normal size fonts clearly as i have 48" TV/Monitor, Besides, Typing with caps and/or big fonts is yelling.

"They" (I'll assume you mean SCS) didn't let OneDrive do anything. It is well known that Microsoft forces Windows to use OneDrive without any input from the user or any action by the developers. Microsoft may think of it as a "feature" but to anyone else it's a bug.
OneDrive causes many problems in the game, so not using it and checking it is not being used by your installation of Windows is essential. Many players have no idea they are using it or even what it is, so asking when there are problems like this is just a standard step in the process.

It is, unfortunately, a fact of life that all installs of the game are different, every PC is different and every player's level of skill with computers is different. This make remote diagnostics hugely challenging.
Perhaps instead of shouting very aggressively, insulting fellow players and demanding a fix, you could give full details of your system and settings?
You could also do this after a crash:
Verify your game files. You can do this by doing a right-click on the game in your Steam Library and going to "Properties". There you go to "Local files" and there should be the option to verify your files. This will fix any missing or corrupt game files.

Go to "C:\Users\*your username*\Documents\American Truck Simulator" after a crash.
Open "game.log.txt" (NOT game.crash.txt), in Notepad or other text editor.
Copy it all, then post it to pastebin.com (split if too big)
Post the link to that page here.

im pretty sure your name isnt pizza7, so im not sure when i called you a smarty pants. and i can write in whatever font i want to, its my fingers. and writing in a big font doesnt equate to yelling, its simple frustration. if i was yelling I WOULD OF PUT EXCLAMATION MARKS !!!! and eveything that you said works like a charm , arent even used by me, i use a ps5 controller. so im not sure what you were tryna point out.

first off, dont assume capitol letters are me yelling. you cant yell thorugh a pc screen. i can type whatever size letters i want. and i never insulted anyone i simply responded with the same energy since the fisrt person said " it is a user problem , clearly" , sounds rude to me, sounds like they expect me to already know that , sounds like they jumped to conclusions. so that wasnt me insulting anyone thanks. secondly ,thank you for your time and response, i will try what you recommended.

but ive only ever used steam config, this problem here is new for me. and the in game config will NOT let me select any buttons from my controller to use.
