I originally had mine plugged to a USB hub and that caused alot of similiar problems. Also you have to have Ghub installed.
First things to check.

It's the gaming software that will make it work correctly...
Only one, do not attempt having both at the same time.
In the wheel software, make sure is set to 900 degrees, 50% sensitivity and Uncheck the centering spring.
In game try to have both trailer and truck stability to Default and ForceFeedback Default as well.
Been using it for 2 years in ATS, ETS2 and a bunch of other sims, no issues at all
Loving it, super stable, no issues at all. But do get that someone else, with newer devices, may need the GHUB.
A PC has a world of configuration options, starting with the G-Hub app, then Steam and finally in individual games. A controller would also need set up on the PC platform.
Make sure that you do not have brake and accelerator pedals locked together in game settings. Get the steering and pedals working before you even consider buttons controls.
This is what I did for my G920 which is the PC/xbox version of the G29 for the PC/PS. This is without the force feedback feature being active.
Click on your Wheel and Pedal picture when it appears in G-Hub, you have three TABs on the side menu Assignments Box with + in the centre, wheel, wheel image and three pedals.
Select 'Steering Wheel' and set the following options.
Operating Range 900
Sensitivity 50
Centering Spring Strength ~15
Pedal Sensitivity can be left at default and then adjusted in-game.
Navigate to your Steam library, right click on ATS/ETS2, select properties from drop down option box. From the 'Controllerl' Tab disable generic controller. Universal control can be accessed via the controller settings Steam Big picture mode.
Start ETS 2/ATS and go to the controls section in the game, select the 'Keyboard and G920 Driving Force Wheel for Xbox One' option, then adjust the following; ( use [ESC] button to move from one option to another. If you get stuck with the incorrect settings, then [ESC] out of 'Controls' and then restart.
Controller Subtype - Wheel
Transmission-Real Automatic
Steering Sensitivity 100% (slider to the right)
Steering Non linearity 0-10% depending on your preference.
Steering Axis - Joy WheelAxis
Steering Axix deadzone 0% (slider 100% left)
Steering Axis mode - Centred
Acceleration Axis - Joy Accelerattor
Acceleration axis deadzone ~0%
Acceleration axis mode - Inverted
Click 'Joy Accelerator' button and depress accelerator to set up.
Brake axis - Joy Brake
Brake axis deadzone 0%
Brake axis mode - Inverted
click 'Joy brake' button and depress brake pedal to set up.
Keys and Buttons menu settings
On the Secondary controls set wheel paddles for
Shift up - Right Paddle
Shift Down - Left Paddle
Most of it is working. I am however having an issue with the Acceleration set up. I have it on inverted, but the truck drives without me pushing on pedal. When I shift, it goes from Neutral right to 18 speed. How can I get use of my pedal and shift right?
For gear changing without an additional shifter I have only used the setting you see above. Both paddles on either side of the wheel do change gear from neutral for setting a forward or reverse direction. You might want to try using Real Automatic for now if you can't figure it out.
If someone else has an idea with how to get manual shifting setting done, then they might chime in, there is probably some setting(s) that I cannot think of right now.
My G920 does use inverted for both accelerator and brake, so it is odd that you need a different setting - make sure that you depress the pedals when setting them up - both should be done.
I run a full G29 controller set, setup for H-shifter settings at ranged splitter w/blueberry spiltter add-on. Never had to set anything to inverted for any function. Works just like it should
I'm Just not understanding why your having the issue. Then again, I didn't use game hub, I used the Logitech gaming software that is needed for PS G29 controller to work right in windows..
Get rid of the hub, install the software, and reset everything in game back to default, and start again..
i had the same prob with my 920. took my foot of the pedal and it went into reverse cause i didnt remove the keyboard bindings for bindings used for the wheel and pedals.
