Hence no need for a gear shift to be modeled. If SCS has not modeled one by now then they probably will not be coming.
Some mods however do have these modeled, and are customizable.
I really would like to drive the 9900i in manual - but as it does not have a gear indicator (to be more specific it has nothing, and even that only once a week) this is close to impossible and I had to return to the LoneStar.
If you are willing to use a mod, this one here adds a gear indicator to the LCD on the dashboard:
