One driver in a truck with a trailer that limits the jobs available, in a garage with few companies nearby will not be the best plan. Set them to start on balanced jobs rather than specialising in long distance or high value as well.
Don't stress over drivers or the game economy, the game isn't really about that, it's all about you driving your truck, going new places and seeing the scenery. Listen to your favourite music and chill.
I havent bought any trailers yet just a truck. I have 2 trucks so far and im using the better one. I dont change it to anything other than balanced.
1-2 GT hours & they are on the road. It is common for them to finish their 1st haul b4 I'm done with mine. I set them to train on Long D up to rank 4 or 5, then switch them over training on hazardous cargo. They are making decent money fairly quickly.
Also, hiring them online is fine. I have never seen that cause a delay in them starting work.
As Mojo Musika says above, I put them in a garage with a strong freight market. But I don't know if that actually matters as I have not tested it.
ah okay thank you.
