blocked roads

do the roads ever become unblocked.
Seems to me they never do.
Are they only clear during deliveries and block in free drive.
And why floating X's why not construction barricades.

The floating XXXXXX in the states if not near a border will probably never be unblocked. This is because of the scale of the game.

The ones near the states borders have a good chance of having the XXXXX removed because of road connections into/out of the state.

You can turn off these game blockers if they annoy you by going to Options >> Gameplay. Uncheck Show Game Blockers. Will be called that or something similar.

That will make them invisible however they are still there. It does not unblock the roads.

You have all (non DLC) roads unlocked to you immediately. The Xs are there in free roam and delivery, as they are there to stop you from going out of bounds. They exist in the first place in order to make the cities and areas feel artificially larger, and more real, without actually creating all of those areas. They also provide an area for AI vehicles to spawn and despawn, which is why they are not "real" barriers like construction, since the AI must be able to drive through.

I'd be interested in having contruction barriers for the road blocks instead of the xxxxx kind of ruins the immersion but I dont want to remove them and accidentally go into one of them either LOL

The AI still use the roads, which I think is better than them all diverting to the single lane off ramp or waiting at lights to turn in one direction that's open. I just pay attention to the GPS. Also as you drive around more, you get to remembering where they are with the XXXs turned off.

Removing the X in the game settings will not remove the barriers. You will still not be able to drive through the barriers, you just cannot see them. The X will reappear if you get REALLY close to the wall, such as attempting to make a turn in that direction IIRC.

Ok they need construction signs ROAD CLOSED LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY ...
But yes, I know the AI needs them ... just not realistic with xxxxx where you cant go.

The XXXX road blocks are permanent, because they mark the end of the map. If you drove there, your truck would fall down.

Hey hello guys!

I didn't find a good topic for this problem, so i think this topic is the closest one.

I'm about to discover the whole map to reach 100% during my trips, but i found a place where i cannot reach a part of the road because of the blockade.
If anyone can help me, i can send a picture about the part, it's in the city of Laredo (Texas).

You probably missed more than just that on your map as the counter will round up when you reach 99.995% map discovery (so you see 100%). That part is certainly not that much.

Though this might have been already reported as a bug.
