1. DOCK TUG 2. REGIONAL/ROUTES 3. BROKER -MINI GAME MOD REQUEST
First off, let me say that I am in love with this game.. I am was a trucker for many years until I got an office job!!

Anyway, I'm kinda hoping that whoever reads this is familliar with trucking. That being said, How awesome it would be to make this an addition to the game?

1. If you're not sure of what I mean, I am talking about a DOCK TUG JOB. So google what dock tug or yard goat is.. UPS/FEDEX usually has loading 100 bays, so the tug driver's job is to transfer a trailer to the parking lot where the empty trailers are, and he gets the full trailers to be unloaded, and vice versa, he/she gets the empty trailers and puts them in the bay to get filled.

2. FIXED ROUTES - so a fixed route is something that you do over and over again, L.A. to SF and vice versa. I know it seems boring but the route can be assigned to one specific employee of yours.. or if you're bored driving around, you can assign it to yourself.

3. BROKER - So in trucking a broker is the one that picks the jobs. The part of the game where you chose the jobs on the job screen. Lets say I have the biggest trucking company in the game and I'm bored of driving. So, I can just play as a broker, Assign load pick up and drop off, make sure that the schedules doesnt conflict and that there is ample time for driver rest, etc.

Anyway, these are just ideas. I dont know how to mod, and I dont think I'm the man for the job. Hopefully you will think that my ideas will add to the game and that modder/s can do it. :D

Your #2 idea is called a "dedacated route". That's what I did for Walmart. Worked out of Cheyanne, WY and ran in CO, WY and SD.

I had some dedicated route deliveries in the game by coincidence ;) Redding <-> San Diego at least 4 times in a row...
Not a bad idea. One could add trailer ownership with it: You'll take a job which requires let's say 160,000 lb of a certain load. You haul it to one place (B), try to find a load for the trip back to A and then haul your second part of the load to B again and so on...

I always thought an optional dedicated route would be something cool. Like a contract with one company to haul all their loads or like you said, one dedicated route that you can assign a driver to or take it yourself on occasion.

+1 on the trailer ownership idea.

Anything to break up the monotony is good by me.

awesome you think my ideas would add value to the game.. and i agree with GBBEME..

well the DOCK TUG would also train drivers who doesnt know how to park a rig.. I mean, how do you add it in the game you ask? the more trailers you move from the parking lot to the dock, the more money you get.

So the pros get more money, the people that wants to train, they still get money but obviously they get trained parking rigs in small spaces. :D

Yes I agree another +1 to the trailer idea!! BUT Nothing is free in the real world, and since this is a simulation, YOU HAVE TO BUY YOUR OWN TRAILER FOR A DEDICATED ROUTE!!! hahahahaha

which only means you have to dish out $100K to buy your own so you can connect it to your tractor :D

Hey we are making great ideas, just up to the modding community to listen to us.. :D

I always wanted to be able to pick my own destination and roads I wanted to drive more frequently, say vineyards for example. Not being a trucker, I wasn't aware of 'dedicated routes'. But thats perfect. Makes it part of the trucking world, and in a sense you have to 'earn' those routes.

Well, ownership includes the process of making some money to buy things ;)

Forgive me for this post a little since I just got up, so my brain may or may not function fully.

1. Can't be done. This would require a 1:1 scale yard, so it won't be in the default game. However, if someone wants to make a map mod for this purpose, nothing stops them from doing that in the first place.

2. Probably can't be done either. And I think this has to do with how jobs are randomly generated, so in the current state, this can't be done at all.

3. This one is more of I'm not really interested in it. I don't think it'd be good for the game, but at the same time, I don't know.

I haven't seen their code, but the dedicated route idea seems like just a change in logic around how routes are created. Randomness is just a function in most languages. I should point out I know nothing about modding though, I was thinking of developers implementing the idea, which is a good one!

I'd like to see LTL added, but I don't know if it's possible with their game engine.

LTL means "less than load", so you'd go make multiple pickups on the same trailer (or possibly only one pickup) and then multiple delivery destinations. Many American trucks operate this way almost exclusively. Yellow-Roadway comes to mind, but I'm sure there are others.
