On some roads just before intersections....the word 'Xing Deng' written on them
WTF it's not even English?

Sometimes I see KEEP then CLEAR but sometimes I see XING then DENG......

I have some mods (changing the economy, cheaper fines, real company logos) but none described changing anything to Chinese?

I don't know about "DENG," but "XING" is short for crossing, as in pedestrian crossing.

X-ing = Crossing
D-eng = Dangerous

?

Ah lol I see...so you guys see them too. I thought WTF. I googled the term 'Xing Deng' means 'magnitude of a star' LOL

Nono54Fr probably just saved the game's immersion for me LOL. The thing is they are written without the dash. It would be better if they were X-ing D-eng but they are written Xing Deng instead.

If anything, the traffic signs would be either in plain english or in plain chinese, not a mix of both which would confuse everybody everytime.

I know if it was just Xing I would have guessed it correctly as to mean 'crossing' but the Deng got me confused.

I think you're right. My mistake. No dash though and they are laid vertically with some distance in between them.

PED XING means Pedestrian Crossing... check out a google image search to see several standard types of PED XING signs and lettering on streets.

Now that I think of it, in recent years I usually just see a sign with a symbol of a person crossing, without any words. I haven't seen the words for a while.

There used to be a Chinese restaurant near where I lived called Duck Xing. Excellent black bean sauce and noodles. Their logo was a mama duck being followed by three baby ducks across a road.

I had to ask the server how they pronounced the name of their restaurant: was it Duck Crossing or Duck Zhing? The server explained that the owner was bad at translating, and you can pronounce the name any way you want as long as you come back. Unfortunately, Duck Xing is no more: out of business.

Perhaps it still exists but the Duck does not. : )

Where I live there's an upscale Chinese restaurant called Duck King. As you may have guessed, it has a famous roast duck / peking duck dish.

With a name like Duck King, I'd expect low cielings.
