Where are the flat nosed trucks???
I was wondering (and I know it's probably licensing) about where the flat nosed trucks (like in Euro Truck Simulator 2) are? There was MACK, International, Kenworth, etc (like in the original american truck simiulators). I was looking forward to driving tham. I see that there are skins for the Kentworth but no truck yet. I hopw to see them soon in an update...

emm.. Kenworth has the W900 and the T680 (is it?) already in game.
By 'flat-nose' trucks you mean cabovers. The trucks in ATS are called 'conventionals'.
I'm pretty sure there are mods for cabovers in ATS. The K100 is a good start.

I think the only way you will get cabovers in ATS is with mods. Now days it is rare to see a cabover on the road here in the usa.

Thats because there are very few flat trucks in USA, in same way that it is very rare with nose trucks in Europe. I mean Scania used to make trucks like that in the past, but now only flat nosed ones. In US its all about nose truck and i have not a problem with that.

Yep, I remember seeing them around when I was a kid in the 80s. But I haven't seen any on the road in a long time.

The company's no longer make them for America for the fact that they are not as economic as the conventional trucks. Yes Kenworth is making the T200 (I think it is?), but it is for Australia or where ever. The American trucking companies don't find it fit for their fleets. But their is still some COE being used but they are owned by an individual.

They're parked very near that search box that would have shown you 100 threads to read on the topic.

The truck length laws changed in the 70s or 80s and took away the main advantage of the cabovers.

I happen to work for a large truck manufacturer, and the raison d'être of COE's (cab over engine) trucks is the existence of total-vehicle-length limitations that (in the US) have largely been repealed. Truck drivers don't like COEs because they're a pain to get in and out of, and also noisier because of the "doghouse" aka the place where part of the drivetrain goes in a COE.

Where?
Not in Los Angeles. They are everywhere.

Cabovers blow. Roast your feet since your sitting on the engine.

At least here in the midwest they are rare. I saw one the other day on the tollway and it was only the second one I have seen this year.

That;s the kind of truck I meant, COE (cab over engine). It's also too bad that we can't get busses in ATS or ETS 2, lol. They'd be fun to drive and it looks like they are set up for it. :)
