i figured it out!!! a fix for ats performance problems EDIT!!!
ok here is a fix for ats that allows it to run all cores this is tested and proven.

first right click ats hit properties in generals tab find launch options then type this or copy and paste

-USEALLAVAILABLECORES

this works trust me when i drive through towns like sacromento i got 45 fps when coming in then when your in the middle of town it shots up to 60 fps

my test revealed this with all -USEALLAVAILABLECORES in msi afterburner it says that all my cpus but 2 are running at 100% maxed and my cpu is a 8 core.

results my very i do have my gpu at 1000mhz oced and i have amd FRTC on so i'll test it with out it hope this works if it does leave a comment thanks tristen the shadow dragon!!

I tried to right-click on the icon for ATS but I don't see launch options.

That cause there are no launch options. I think the thread starter is smoking some good stuff.

No, I've just had a look, and there is. In Properties, General, there is a button "Set Launch Options".

right clicking mine does not give any launch options except the same 4 when you just click play, I don't see anywhere that you can type a option. you must be running the BETA version of ATS.

I think the issue is coming from people right-clicking on the desktop shortcut to look for the options, when they should be doing it through the game list in steam.

Right click, go to properties, general, and there you will find "Set Launch Options".

Damn I did that, just tested it on mine, spawned my truck smack in the middle of Vegas (lowest frame rate for me before, would drop to like 15fps!)..

And..

Well, frame rate now running at 30-40fps in the middle of vegas! So effectively it doubled my frame rate! I also took the liberty of bumping grass density and it still ran 30-40fps!

Nice tip! That option should be made more public imo.

well maybe better instructions would have helped, no one said go to properties.
anyway thats the same thing we did in ETS2 except we entered a larger number for the amount of ram for ETS2 to use.

I have a i7 6 core which with my version of windows 7 pro I can unpark all my cores, so your trick works great with my setup. although in cities I was only going down to about 35 fps, but I max all my settings.
