I have the wheel but only tried it in ETS2 when the wheel was first released. At the time I was using the G29 Logitech wheel so I just wanted to try it and see if it worked ok. I found the Saitek wheel worked ok but did not have any force feed back and the wheel just turns without any feeling, very different from the wheels which have force feed back.
I currently use the Thrustmaster T500RS and have used the Logitech G29 (which was faulty and was returned) and the G920 which I still have.
For anyone wanting a cheap wheel and who plays Farming Sim 15 and will also play Farming Sim 17 when it is released in October and who does not mind using a wheel which does not have force feed back and if I remember correctly does not have full sync with the in game wheel, I think the Saitek wheel is ok.
It really depends on what you want from the wheel, if you want FFB and full sync for ATS and ETS2 then choose another wheel. There are better wheels around but I have heard of people using the Saitek wheel and are happy with it in ATS. Sadly those people have not replied.
Perhaps off topic, the Saitek Control Deck which is used along with the Saitek wheel is superb, it adds 24 buttons, a rotating dial and a controller which can be assigned funtions for the game, which I use along side my T500RS.
A lack of force feedback isn't really a big deal for me - but the twitchy input / non-full sync sounds like a deal breaker. That's disappointing if it's the case, especially with 900 degrees turn and all those buttons.
I'm looking for something rather compact (since I'm on a laptop and use a PS4 controller) and not too expensive (if possible.) I see lots of steering wheels on ebay & amazon, but I'm not sure if the older ones are compatible with Windows 10, or if PS1 / PS2 / PS3 wheels work.
I think most wheels are compatible with Windows 10. Like I said, I have the T500RS and that is for Windows and PS3. As long as the wheel is compatible with Windows it should work fine. I recommend the Thrustmaster but people who have the cheaper Thrustmasters would be the best people to give advice. TruckerKid has the T150 and seems to be happy with that wheel, it might be worthwhile checking that out.
Via Google I found something that might be right, but unfortunately it's long discontinued and I can't find it anywhere. The USB Mad Gamepad: http://usb.brando.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=00581
generally all FFB wheels from thrustmaster are good. Not all of them have 900 degree though. The 150 is a good wheel, very solid with a good pedal set and good FFB. Anything above the T80 should be worth the money... well, the cheap Ferrari one is cr4p, not sure how it´s called now
Force Feedback is actually quite a nice feature: for example the wheel jittering slightly while the truck is idling is a nice touch.
Thanks again for everyone's input.
