Yhea i get that but when i change gear IRL i start withe changing from 1 to 5 with low range and then rest with high range and some with both first low then high and in tested this with american trucks but i maked no sense
First off, an 18 speed gearbox isn't a complete neccessity; though it does give you a decided advantage when you're climbing - you'll be able to keep your engine in its max torque range longer and more often. I personally drove an Eaton-Fuler 13 speed and could out climb a good portion of the rigs out there, even with just a Cummins ISX 400.
I'd recommend using a 13 speed.
When loaded, start of in 2nd, since the 1st forward gear is a lot like a r/l "crawler gear" and won't do much good in game.
Shift to 3rd, 4th, then 5th. When you get to 6th is when things change contingent on whether you're loaded heavily or not.
If heavily loaded, shift each gear in sequence. 6, 7 ,8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
If you're not heavily loaded, it get a little different. 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13. Yes, skip from 6 to 8, then 8 to 10. I've found it's very close to how we'd shift from 5L to 6L, then 6L to 7L, then to 7H, 8L, 8H, 9L, and 9H in real life.
Bobtail, take off in the game's 4th gear.
I've never tried the 18 speed gearbox in game, but I would imagine you could apply the same gear split skipping between the high range split and the last maybe 6 gears. Please let me know if this helps!
Yes thanks
