I ask, as something I’ve noticed in a lot of games, including ATS, is sometimes my Xbox controller gets detected as two different controllers depending on whether it’s connected with the cord or Bluetooth. Yesterday when I launched the game, it asked me about a new Bluetooth controller detected, even though I was already using said controller to control the mouse pointer in the menu.
I don't know how to find the config.cfg file to delete it? And, I wasn't connected by bluetooth. I Use an Xbox controller wireless adapter. But, I'll try the cable method next as you mentioned. I also updated the firmware via accessories app.
The game makes a folder in your Documents folder, it’s in there. You could just rename it to config.bak, same effect as the game will create a new config.cfg when you relaunch it.
The other thing is to ensure the controller is powered on and connected by whatever means before you launch the game, sometimes games only recognize stuff that is operational before you start them.
The recent update DID affect Steam Controller Settings/Input, as confirmed by the Developers.
I see you said you used to use the Steam input settings, and did disable that, but you have not confirmed, as asked in the first post, that you reprogrammed your key bindings in the in-game menu, and that you are unable to assign the right joy stick to the "look" controls ( I do see that you said generically that "it didn't work", but I see no indication of what you tried that did not work). To use the joystick to pan/move the camera, there are actually TWO settings in the Controller section, right under Throttle, Brake and Clutch settings. One for "look left/Right" and one for "look up/down" .. Can you bind these controls to your stick, or when you select to bind, and move the stick, the game does not "see" the stick input, so can not bind the stick to that control? Have you tried binding the stick to some other control, such as the throttle to confirm it is the stick not being recognized, and also, have you tried to bind the other stick to the "look" controls to see if it is the "look" setting that is refusing to bind?
Edit: Also, the Config file you want to delete to reset all your settings to default is the one INSIDE your Profile folder, not the one in the main folder: Documents/American truck simulator/profiles/"your profile"/config.cfg .. but you actually want to edit/remove the Controls.sii, not the config.cfg Controls.sii is your controller settings, Config.cfg is your entire game configuration.
I tried what you suggested in the in-game controller menu and key-binding menu to test it. "The look up and down axis" and the look "left and right axis," next to the clutch settings. First the two controls you mentioned. Those controls did bind to the right stick, but in-game unfortunately no-dice. Next, I tired the "acceleration axis" on the stick as well to see it any of those bindings would work on the right joystick and it bound to it. But, again, in-game the bindings would not allow me to accelerate after I turned on the engine and engaged the automatic transmission. I know the right trigger works to use the throttle but I wanted to test the right stick. Oddly enough, the right stick works when I bind it to the steering function/ binding?
Finally, I tired the key binding menu. Next, I proceeded to see if anything would bind to the right joy stick. No key bindings in the menu would bind to it at all. The left joystick stick control on the other hand would bind for the "throttle", "look left", "look right", and "look center," key bindings just fine or any key binding for that matter. And I tested it for the last time to see if it worked in-game. and nothing. It's weird, because the controls are binding, but not working when I bind them?
But, I should note, that the right stick works fine for steering, starting/turning-off engine, and using the parking brake when bound as such. I think the "look function" in either menus for keybindings or controls are not working on "either stick," Left or right after testing the bindings.
I'll try finding the Control.sii file next and delete it and restart the game and try the process over again.
Should I delete them? and restart ATS?
I found an old post on the scs forms about trying to put the track Ir setting to "0" instead of "1". to get the interior cab cam to work.
Don't know why it was turned on at all but here it is:
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=183690
I also set the tobii setting to "0" too as well to just to make sure:
1.) uset g_tobii "0"
2.) uset g_trackir "0"
changed both settings in Config.cfg file location using notepad.

Find config.cfg file TrackIr Settings to "0" if it is set to "1".

The bindings now work. Thanks for your posts everyone.
If anyone has the same issue I had here after all options have been used, try this.
