all of a sudden I get this massage "Parking Brake Engaged"
How is this parking brake disengaged? Man, this is a nuisance. Please help me get rid of this option once and for all. Thanks

Been trying the space bar for several months now. It does not work. It also advice of “low pressure” This is something new.

Low pressure has always been there if you happen to use your brakes too often within a short period.

This is something I’m getting lately. Not driving now any different than I have in the past. Now, if I have to make small adjustment while backing up and forward, I get this message. I even shut down my computer. Still there, “parking brake on. To release press space bar” hate to be the only one here with this issue.

Looks like the realistic air pressure got enabled in the settings. Check the gameplay options and disable it again.

Check your options. I believe there's an option to have the parking brakes in the ON position every time you shut down and re-start your engine. Simply set this to OFF. Hope my memory serve me right, of course...

I don't remember this ever being an option. Handbrake stays in the position it was set when you last exited the game.
Convoy also automatically puts the handbrake on when joining/leaving a session.

Plus OP states his handbrake spontaneously engages when manoeuvering, so it's most likely linked to air pressure, not just booting up the game.

Because of the high braking forces, a truck uses a pneumatic braking system. A compressor driven by the engine compresses the air and this is stored in one or more containers. If the contents and thus the pressure become too low due to frequent braking, the parking brake will no longer release for safety reasons. So you have to let the engine run for a while so that the compressed air tanks fill up again to be ready for safe braking! So it is not an error but a normal and realistic function!

This is ironic. To get pressure back, you have to be in neutral gear, hand brakes on, start up your engine, and step on your accelerator, and watch the needle in your pressure gauge move back up.

*it happen again two person reply in the same time....*

I just checked my options and I have the following:
"Automatic Parking Brake Engaged" which is checked, meaning I use it whenever I start my engine. This is the option I am referring to. You can remove the check-mark in Options under Gameplay and that should resolve the issue. Then you can chose to apply the brakes via the spacebar whenever you want.

Q: Are you using a wheel with pedals and manual transmission?

I stand corrected then, didn't know that was an option.

Just a minor correction, this function actually just engages the parking brake by default when the game is booted, or when fast traveling(either garages or Quick Travel). If you've ever noticed your truck rolling back immediately after spawning in and touching the controls, this is why. Used to be config file only, but eventually made a menu appearance, on by default these days.

I would like to find the "Automatic Brake Engaged" I have gone through all the buttons and I cant find it. I need more detailed information what subtitle of options I can find this button. Other than that I dont remember ever having checked this button on or off but Ill give it a try. Just help me locate it. Thanks

Gameplay > Truck Settings > Automatic Parking Brake
Should be near the other toggle options for Automatic Engine Start, Automatic Drop of Liftable Axles, etc.

But the option causing your parking brake to come on when trying to park is "Airbrake simulation." Turn that off, it's in the same area.
