More AI drivers to hire?
How can one increase the number of hired drivers? Maybe edit some file or find a mod?
I populated all available garages with trucks, but i ran into not enough drivers to hire. I want to fulfill all garages with drivers. Please help.

Understood, thank you. Very sad.

Just for the record since v1.46 it is 353 drivers that you can hire. Has Texas added so many garages that this isn't enough to be able to upgrade and fill them all (ie. more than 10)?

Time to pull out of California and transfer my company to Texas. Just like real life! :c:

This is maddening. I'm playing on a years old save, and the first thing I do when a new expansion comes out is buy up all the garages, upgrade them, and then decide what truck I want to populate them with. Hitting this hard limit knocked the wind out of me. I know it's pointless, but it's how I like to play. Until they up it, I'll just refrain from purchasing any more states.

They likely wont raise it significantly. Its been around this limit in ETS2 for a long time, even when you couldnt fill all garages. There is nothing stopping you from buying garages and decided which trucks to buy and use, the only step missing is hiring drivers for the trucks. Which if you are hiring everyone, is just a bunch of clicks to randomly assign every driver to something, and doesnt really have any interesting aspect (to me).

What good is that if they're not making money? Watching the drivers level up, the trucks accumulate miles, and the money roll in IS interesting for me. I've been playing this way since Hard Truck 2 back in the day. This is MY virtual trucking company, and this limit is killing MY vibe.

There is no point in limit. nuff said.

Actually there is a point - every active driver increases the size of the saved game data (because the game has to record logs for the driver's activity and also against the truck and the garage slot). Not only does that have the obvious effect on the amount of disk space required to store those saves but (probably more importantly) it has an effect on how long the game has to be held in limbo whilst all of that data is copied from where it lives whilst the game engine is running into the save structures ready to be written out. Now all of that is memory to memory data copying and happens pretty quickly but makes it increasingly likely that the game will stutter when (auto)saving.

Over the years, I constantly forget the type of person who typically plays these games. I remember the OUTRAGE when they dumped DX9. We can't have anything nice because old boomer Joe insists on playing the game on a 12 year old potato.

I think that whomever stated they wouldn't buy more states until you can hire more drivers is correct. Why have that many garages if you cannot fill them? I don't care if ETS didn't add more drivers this is ATS same developers sure but different game that now has another state on the horizon. Overall it's a great game so why do something so silly that's going to turn your users off?

*EDIT* I also fired a driver to see if that would make a difference before reading this and now I can't even hire that driver back so don't fire any cause then your number goes down even further. Very disappointing.

There's a couple mods in the workshop, one gives 564 drivers and the other 1000 female drivers :P

although I don't know if this gives you more, or if the limit is hard coded?

I think some of those at least just add more options for variety. I do not think they increase the amount of total hireable drivers.

Why have that many garages? Nothing says you have to buy them all (those making this complaint for ETS2 can at least point to an achievement to own all garages and there are far more garages in that game, with the same number of drivers) nor indeed that you have to hire _any_ drivers. SCS continue to add a handful of drivers every so often but also continue to maintain they have good reason for not adding more. Is this really a game breaking feature in a truck _driving_ game?

Your fired driver(s) should became available to hire again after a period of time.
