If you doing external contracts from SCS, the speed limiter is capped at 65. Also, try to remove the truck mod and see if it fixes it or not. Sometimes mods can cause issues with the game.

turn off the Gov.

I didn't know external contracts locked that. Seems silly when the speedlimit in AZ is 80 at times. Trucks should be able to do at least 70.

Its to keep it balanced between players when SCS does more with the stats, like competition so to speak. Plus most companies in the US limit their trucks in between 62-68 mph so 65 mph is a good in-between.
I don't want to sound loke a 5-yr old racing his truck saying this, but I want to be able to go faster on external contracts. I play for simulation styles and like to follow speed limits, which can't happen if I'm limited at 65mph.

As said before the speed limits are a "limit", not a target...

Simple answer .You can`t go faster than 65 on external contracts, If you want to drive fast don`t do them.

Can't follow 65 mph rule don't do external contracts just to make it fair and realistic.

if youre focusing on speed and speedlimits in the game, youre playing it wrong.. this is about hauling goods, not racing. if you want racing get live for speed and go at it, its an awesome racing sim for free...

If you really want to play as a "simulator", then 65 mph is very realistic. As said most company trucks are limited around 65 mph, and owner ops will also run slow to save on fuel.

Not very economical to drive much over 65mph.
Problem is the default economy is not very realistic so the fuel cost is not important.

In most of Europe the limit is mostly 50mph for trucks :)
In France and Germany I believe its less than 40mph for undivided two lane roads.

My understanding is many companies have limiters on their trucks as some have already mentioned and the federal government is considering requiring 65 mph limiters nation wide in the future. So I don't think there is anything unrealistic about it being included in ATS. It is better then the 90 km/h (56 mph) limiters in Europe.

I jumped back into ETS 2 last night (in VR) after playing lots of ETS and the speed limits seems so slow.

If you're doing WoT contracts then you get the speed limiter no matter what. I'm not entirely sure why they have that but you can very easily just ignore online contracts since they're the same as the base contracts. If you're doing WoT contracts for the free DLC then do the three contracts and then don't touch them again. That's what I plan on doing since I like having the limiter off and speeding like a maniac.
