Launching ATS with Steam VR mode running just opens the game in Steam's "theater mode" (virtual screen, but still "flat").
Launching ATS with Steam VR off will launch the game and it appears to be generating a VR compatible image, but the Oculus simply ignores it. Despite having set the device to accept "unknown" app access, the Oculus view just stays on the VR Home page.
And you're doing the Oculus Experimental beta?
Also, as a caveat, I may be mistaken in saying I have a "CV1" Oculus. I have the version of the Oculus consumers could pre-order earlier in 2016. Mine arrived in June.
If we're actually having different problems, I'll just start a fresh thread.
Nah, CV1 is Consumer Version 1 - we're on the same page :)
As others have said, you have to opt in to the oculus beta, then user the -oculus in the startup options. You may also have to allow the Rift settings and Allow Unknown Sources.
And I never have used Steam VR for launching anything.
Am downloading the Beta stuff now and will report back later on :)
These instructions were successful. Thank you so much for your help!
I'm guessing the Arizona DLC is not yet compatible with the latest Experimental Oculus Build? It's not in the game for me.
1. Enable unknown sources within the Rift app settings.
2. Add -oculus to the launch options for ATS in Steam.
3. Opt in to the Experimental Oculus support Beta within Steam.
I had to restart my machine, and then it all worked fine.
