Cant shrink Game to desktop

I know there's a post regarding this question but i still can't get the game or ETS2 to shrink to desktop, i've tried Alt + tab and the Windows button. nothing works. and overlay is ticked when i right click the game in steam. Plus if i want to stream on Twitch or Discord or record gameplay using capture software it wont pick up the game as when i tried just a black screen even obs cant seem to detect it.

What are your system specs? At the top of Steam click on "Help" and then "System Information."

As for recording, set your recording software to capture "Desktop."

For alt-tab to work, you need to have something else open for it to switch to. The windows desktop key should minimise the game otherwise, just don't do it while driving as there's a bug and the game doesn't pause.

Not sure what you mean by something else open. And yes windows key button should work but as i said its not. Not sure how to copy paste here my system pecs as not a tech pc minded person unfortunately so don't know how to do alot of this pc computer stuff.The n.y way i can get to my desktop atm is Crtil + Alt + Delete to bring up task manager but even when i click on that and goes back to desktop it just gos back to full screen green half the time so i have to do it again until i get my desktop. Using Windows 7, Asus maxium ranger mother board / graphics Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB DDR5 / Ram 16gb / cpu intel i7 - 4790k 4 ghz.

Did you try pressing "Win" and "Down Arrow" together? This combination minimizes the active window.

Just Tried that. Still didn't work game is refusing to shrink to windows taskbar so i can see my desktop

Still wont stream, used obs and when the game is running twitch still only displays the normal desktop. and crt alt delete no longer works so if i want my desktop i have to quit the game :(. its the steam version not retail disc steam version if that helps any. Pls help

It's not the game. It is your computer, most likely driver issues causing your problem.

Oh ?. iI also noticed that the game has installed to my desktop and if i right click on it it comes up with the box info for shortcut icons to a programe a no big box like run as admin , previous version of windows etc... i tried reinstalling from my steam game libaary but just imstalls there cant see option to install it like other normal games. this is really frustrating as i dont know about any of this tech stuff to know how to fix this. :(

@Leo - you don't have to install it, it installs automatically to your Steam library. Just double click on the desktop shortcut and you are good to go.

Yeh just found that out. when i tried to get task manager up and game running in not fullscreen couldnt get my mouse to register on the desktop taskbar and game was halfway over taskbar, like the game is completely over screening my desktop or rather over running my my desktop blocking access to it when i run the game. i try to find another driver updater see what appens but not sure whats going with it. sorry if i haven't explained it better. Guess its if the game is running i dont have access to my pc / laptop.

after reading an articale or two seems i need to press ALT + TAB. As its common issue with only steam games that require this input as other no steam games just need the normal windows shortcut button. But is i use Streamlabs OBS which i have no idea how to use but did my best to figure it out myself, any Game runs at fullscreen just makes my stream go black screen. And the word i was looking forward in my comment before is if i run ATS or ETS2 it is focused as it was termed why i couldnt get access to my desktop. not sure if there a setting in stream to stop that ?

Try running the game in 'safe mode', then set your original resolution in the game options. To make task manager come to the front; Alt+Ctrl+Del > options top left> select 'always on top'.
