Starting ATS via Steam into DirectX 11
I believe there is a little tweak I can enter so that my game can start from Steam straight into DIrectX without having to choose it every time.

Am I right? Do you know what I have to enter and where?

Any advice with gratitude.

You don't need to do that actually. The game is only DX11 right now.

Once you have selected DX11 from Steam the game will auto use that version when you open it from your pc.

There is an option for launching with OpenGL but OP like Underscore_101_3 said, the game while launching from desktop should go to directx11 now since you selected it to play in the library. But launching it from the library will always pop that up regardless of if you've been picking the one setting everytime.

That depends on OS?

Mac/Linux will automatically have OpenGl selected. Windows machines will have DX11.

On my gaming machine on a fresh install of the game I noticed major performance decrease. Turns out the game opened in OpenGL on my RX 6600. launched with D11 and instant fps improvement. using Windows 11 right now but I was on 10 when I discovered you could change the mode, used to launch games from desktop icons.

Sorry to disagree with some people. I have ATS on Steam and Windows 10. Its laucnhed via their desktop app not directly to ATS

EVERY time I launch ATS I HAVE TO choose to open in DirectX or OpenGL or SafeMode.

None are chosen automatically at all.

I believe there is some thing added - similar to Feragens command - to autu set it to DX11.

If you are getting the popup that asks DX11, OpenGL, Safemode then you are clicking play within the Steam Library. That is normal function for pressing play.

Instead you could create a desktop shortcut for the game or even right click Steam in the Taskbar area and then click ATS from there too.

There is one parameter you can add into your launch option but this does not make the options disappear when clicking "play" inside your library.

Right click ATS in your Library. On the right on the bottom will be launch options. Copy and paste the following including the -

-rdevice dx11

Yes, true, but you don't have to choose every time.

Once you select DX11 once, the next time, you can press play, it will load with whatever you chose last.
