Do you floor the gas pedal?
I don't drive irl and in game I have a habit of always having the gas pedal floored at any time. I'm wondering if this is standard practice for most people, or if flooring the pedal is unusual.

I try to drive it as realistically as possible, by depressing the right trigger just like an accelerator pedal. I use an XBox Controller with some of the k'board keys. Someday I might try a wheel + pedals.

pedal to the metal and let it roar -- bobtailing, I use the pedal normally, running a load, it stays floored

I try and drive normally. I make pretty heavy use of cruise control to stay at the speed limit.

I drive realistic and use cruise control to stay at the posted speed limits.

I use a controller and until very recently was mashing the accelerator trigger all the way down. Lately I've been trying to ease it down more like I drive in real life. I still may mash it if I'm trying to race another truck from a stoplight to get ahead before the road narrows though. ;)

Since trucks are heavy and accelerate slow, I drive pedal to the metal while accelerating but of course I ease on the pedal once I'm at the speed limit. That's probably how the real trucks are driven too, especially when fully loaded.

I use wheel w/ pedals and driving through cities or on roads with speed limits as low as 25/30 I barely press the pedal to keep the truck at a constant pace at the speed limit, I don't use cruise inside cities as it would just get turned on/off constantly. Highway driving as soon as I am on the on ramp, I straight up floor it like it's a race car, especially if the posted speed limit is in the 70s. Then I use cruise control to keep it at 70 or whatever it is. This is how I drive in this game, feels comfortable to me.

I never floor it, I put around 85% at most. Exceptions to happen.

No flooring. Maybe at steep climb but even that quite seldom.

Staing within speed limit, To me it is more important to not damage anything than to rush with the delivery. I have other games more suitable for fast driving.

When I'm not hauling a trailer on my way to pick one up i tend to floor it and ignore all rules of the road, but when on a job i drive normally as i would irl, that is in game :-)

When i still drove a truck irl never floored it just because, but there were times it was needed with a low powered truck and a load that required a lot more power, specially up a hill, or bridge,..
I can tell you it's no fun going 50 k/ph up a bridge on the highway.

I thought I read somewhere, quite a while ago, that if you accelerate normally you will save on fuel in the long haul as opposed to flooring it constantly... It could happen given all the other game/truck details available. 👴🤔

Yes, normally, especially when it comes to driving the typical car. But if the engine is weak or the load is very heavy, then it's normal to floor it to get up to speed. In real life I used to drive an old Mercedes Diesel 240D. There if you didn't floor it, you'd barely accelerate and if you do floor it, it feels like normal and still rather slow driving (passengers would never know I was flooring it). But in my modern Honda that I have now if I floored it all the time, people might think I'm trying to race. So it depends on the vehicle and the load. I think with semi trucks pulling a heavy trailer like what we do in ATS, it's reasonable to floor it to get up to speed because even then the acceleration is quite weak.

trucks when getting up to speed limit yes except for bob tail IRL.
trucks with speed governor i drove with foot to the floor.

I use keyboard, so I have to. There is no sensitivity, gas is either on or off. As a result I use cruise control most of the time to maintain speed, with the mouse buttons to raise or lower the CC setting by +/- 5 mph as needed. I don't know how you're supposed to set up a controller to give you analog speed control. Even when I tried it the triggers acted just like my keyboard so I gave up.

It depends on the controller. If it has a lever, or you have a wheel with pedals, then you just calibrate them in the menu and you're good to go.
