Texas DLC owners, does it include the Alamo.
As an individual for me the most significant view in Texas is the Alamo. Does the DLC have this. I have all the previous states and am contemplating Texas but feel that it should include the Alamo.

I think you haven't been to the Alamo before. It's in downtown San Antonio, surrounded by office buildings, hotels, and tourist traps. It's blocks from the interstate, so you can't see it from the highway. And the streets around the Alamo are restricted, so getting a semi down there would be a problem.

In general, if it's not something visible from the road, it's not going to get included. Which makes sense

Thanks for your help, no I haven't even been to America. I have in the past bought books from the Alamo museum by mail. So there was my interest but was not aware it was not visible from the road. Maybe it will have some other historical points of interest.

In real life I would not try to get a truck even a bobtail down to see the Alamo because the streets are so narrow that even cars have a hard time. Then you have to pay out your nose maybe even take out a second mortgage on you house and then leave your wife and kids for collateral just to park you car and walk 2 or 3 blocks. But there isn't any parking for a big truck if you actually made it that far.

You have to excuse me for having no knowledge of San Antonio other than Google Earth. That shows roads around the Alamo that to an Englishman are quiet adequate. When I was a civilian driver for the Royal Navy driving both trucks and sometimes staff cars, I had to take an American Naval Captain to another base. As we passed through a town called Fareham he commented what a lovely village it was. I had to explain that it was in fact a town and said I appreciated that in the UK things must seem small when compared to the USA.

San Antonio has a beautiful down town. It's one of my favorite places to stay on a long weekend. The Alamo is historically a very cool place to visit but in reality it's not much to look at. You line up at the front door and remove your cover as your enter, Look at a few displays and exit out the back by the gift shop. The entire thing takes 15 minuets if you take your time. The history is so much bigger then the location and like other have said it's a real pain to drive past. I don't even like to drive my Tundra around down there, I can't imagine driving a big rig on those tight streets and bridges.

Thanks Staquix , I would love to visit the Alamo but not much chance now. Apart from my age and unfortunately the Pfizer covid jab gave me heart failure my ability to get about is limited. So games are my release and perhaps people can tell me how accurate the Texas map is as I have a spend limit. I have read as many books as I have been able to find regarding the Alamo but expect there are many more.

The scale and layout of every other city in this game isn't accurate, so I don't see why any of this should matter.

Thanks Fidel for your input. It could be said that in previous states National Parks have access in the game for trucks, whereas in real life they can't,

One person would say they want to be able to drive up to the Alamo, another would complain that doing so is unrealistic. You can’t please everyone.

Also, The Alamo does not have a basement. So, you're not going to find your stolen bike there. The fortune teller was lying!

As a Native Texas I am disappointed in El Paso, Mtn Franklin needs to be bigger, and where is the Star on the Mtn??

You mean that:

But to reiterate what has been said already:
The map scale is 1:20 outside of cities and 1:3 inside of them. There is no possible way for SCS to include everything so stuff has to be left out.

The star was there, pre-release photos showed it.

So it's not in? That's a bit disappointing. I know nothing about Texas other than it is home to the Alamo. It's the only thing I ever associated with Texas, other than cows. It may not be realistic to drive to it, but maybe they could put it in to one of the viewpoints so the camera can pan over it so we can see it? I haven't got to explore San Antonio much yet but was hoping to come across it.

I agree Catratio, I can't see that it would be impossible to drive there in a truck. Looking back at Google Earth street view images there are buses in there. I am sure the Alamo must have deliveries and it isn't all shipped in on hand carts. There is also another site that could be included, San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. I expect the same reasons would be given that trucks are not allowed there, but then they are not in reality allowed in National Parks. It seems to leave out The Texas War of Independence, the creation of what is now Texas.
