TEXAS DLC GLITCH

Started playing ATS with the TEXAS DLC. Every time, while driving or parked, I hit the 'Escape' key to access the main menu the images and sound stutter, then freeze, and then I am immediately bounced out to my desktop! Verified my files and no errors. Never happened before - only started today.

Not happening my end with Texas installed. Game is working perfectly. Something up your end. Maybe verify the game files.

Had the same thing happen to me about 10 times, verified after each time and still happened.

Anyone running mods?
Have you made sure your graphics drivers and Windows are all up to date?
If the game is not crashing, but not responding, it is almost certainly your PC system and install at fault, not the game.
I've already driven almost 1,500 miles and been to a third of the cities doing the event jobs and not had a single fault, I got 40fps (capped) everywhere.
If the game crashes, do this:
Go to "C:\Users\*your username*\Documents\American Truck Simulator" after a crash.
Open "game.log.txt" (NOT game.crash.txt), in Notepad or other text editor.
Copy it all, then post it to pastebin.com (split if too big)
Post the link to that page here.

Only thing that popped up in my game log was an error about invalid sign text. This is not an isolated thing and it's happening to people running mods and vanilla. https://pastebin.com/YRLmhDd0

I unloaded all my mods and then reloaded them one by one with the exception of three truck paint job mods that weren't essential. Now everything seems to work fine. Unfortunately, for some strange reason, in the process my profile (at level 58 experience and all covered map routes) got wiped out and I had to start from scratch so be careful in what you do.

I would say that your issue is more that you have a resource hog running in the background. Because when you start the game about half of your RAM is already taken up:

00:00:00.000 : [mem] physical total: 15711M
00:00:00.000 : [mem] physical avail: 8417M

And these programs generally don't just hog RAM but also CPU and GPU resources.

Besides you are using a modded profile and are using plugins that very well can affect performance. So I don't know where you got it from that it also happens on vanilla profiles but certainly not from that one.

I said it happens on vanilla profiles too because I've seen it posted by people saying they were running no mods. I never said my profile was vanilla and my problem has already been fixed. I posted that paste bin because I was confused by the sign error.

Great that it is fixed but, as long as there is no game.log clearly showing a vanilla profile the issue can also simply be from the graphic settings being too high.
