What kind of controllers work for ATS?
Im using a mouse and keyboard and it gives my hand cramps with the small adjustments for steering. Any thoughts on any kind of controller? If it helps I have Windows 10.

Edit:
This would include the Multiplayer Mod if this changes any recomendations you are thinking of.

Thanks, going to wait a bit longer to see what others have to say.

I'll put in another good word for the XB360 pad.

Xbox One Gamepad...if you dont want a 360 one.

And the MP mod does not matter in the case of what you use, as the steering etc. will be the same...

As you can see many controllers work well with ATS. SCS made the game that way so people could use a keyboard, a hand held contoller or a wheel. I used a XB 360 controller for a long time in ETS2 before buying a wheel. The game was actually designed around using a wheel and once you use a wheel it is impossible to go back to using anything else.

I am not suggesting you get a wheel but as your question was about controllers and a wheel is a controller, I mentioned it. : )

The Official Xbox 360 pad is perfect for ATS and can be bought extremely cheap nowadays. A wired one is especially recommended. Not only is it fantastic for this game but it works flawlessly on all other titles that have controller support and virtually all developers use this pad and its button mapping for designing their games. It is plug in and play and any driver updates will install automatically.

I have moved on to an Xbox One controller now which costs more but is equally good if you want to spend a bit more money but a 360 pad is still the best value out there with the performance also. Avoid any cheap knock-offs that look like 360 pads though.

I use the Xbox360 controller as well. Works great for all my racing/driving sim games.
One day when I have the space I plan to get a pedal/wheel/shifter set up.

im using a thrustmaster T80 and a 360 controller converted into a switch box for more realism...

I use my PS4 controller. PS3 and Xbox controllers also work as well as the Steam controller.

Logitech F710 here, works wonders. Have a Driving Force GT I gave to my dad (retired OTR, enjoys the game, that wheel works great as a cheap alternative), and saving up for a G27
