One clue as to why it doesn't work for you may be the fact that although it includes Kenworth T680, Peterbilt579 and Kenworth W900, the mod only affects the Paccar engine.
Bear in mind that the mod also includes replacement sounds for the Paccar engine.
Really, a transmission mod would provide higher speeds than simply making ridiculous increases to engine torque.
