I want to set my money to zero - how?

I've googled this and I've seen only 3 solutions:

1) Start over from scratch with a new profile
2) Create a mod and attach something with an outrageous price, enough to subtract the amount that you want
3) Create a paintjob with an outrageous price, buy it, then reset it back to a normal price, sell.

I don't know how to do 2 & 3 or I would have tried it myself.

Saw something about using a console command but the directions were way too complicated for my pea-brain. Note that I am already using "Realistic Economy" mod, so incomes are where I want them to be already. I could also buy like 100 trucks and park them in all my garages I suppose - pain in the arse.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reference. Tried the save editor, but for ATS instead of "LOAD" (Like ETS2), it has a greyed out box "Disable Steam Cloud". Well, I did that on Steam for ATS, closed Steam, restarted the save editor, and it is still saying Disable Steam Cloud...oh well. I'll try a clean restart of windows.

So about that program, you can simply press the "Decrypt" button and it'll let you edit the save file directly in plain text, it'll just load a hair slower than the non-decrypted version.

Just search your money in that file and then set it to 0. File will be called game.sii. If it looks like a jumbled mess, it isn't decrypted. The console thing that was talked about is simply disabling that encryption so it can be edited with NotePad.

That worked! That's what I was missing. Thanks. Fired most of my 25 man crew and have a tiny $33,000 to work with the Realistic Economy mod.

Wait until the money gets over half of the 64bit integer limit (9.22*10^18). When it overflows it should be with the equal amount in the negatives.
