World Truck jobs

Is this simply an online multiplayer version of the game? If so, what are the benefits? I assume you can meet ppl and run convoys/jobs together, etc. Am I wrong?

World of Trucks is more of a database. You can keep track of jobs online and participate in events, such as the current Hauloween Event. World of Trucks is not multiplayer, that is called Convoy mode, or with the TruckersMP unofficial mod. Convoy mode is what you described, you can play with up to 8 people, and run convoys and share jobs.

World Of Trucks deliveries are no different than regular ones with a couple of exceptions.

First, it tracks deliveries allowing you to go to the website and see stats. It also allows them to have special events as mentioned.

Secondly, and most importantly, (for some) your truck will have a limiter during these jobs so you can't speed. This is, I guess, to keep the playing field equal for all.

Should also mention the speed limiter is set to a max of 65MPH everywhere, it does not change for local limits. You can speed in the city, and on some highways you cannot reach the speed limit.

...and you cannot load a save if you crash and need a tow. You lose the job.

The time to complete is real time not game time, so if you do exit the game you need to come back and complete before that timer runs out. It is NOT game time.

The External Contracts pool is completely separate from other job sources within the game and gives you access to a much wider range of jobs from your current location which can be very helpful if you are trying to explore new areas. The fact that WoT runs to real world time can also help in that regard as you are not limited in how much game time you take over any given journey so rerouting to discover new roads become less of an issue.
