ATS & ETS2 save files + paint job code
I really need help from this community. i have been using mods for a very long time in both ATS and ETS2. ATS is which i play now. my question is whether the save files get corrupted or not ? since both the games are having local and cloud saves, will it affect the local files?. i am asking this because sometimes the economy ingame does not make sense. and all the mods i have used is from steam workshop. not external. and of course i use money and xp cheat. and also how to restore the files to its default format. like begin like a new. maybe like replacing files or something?

My second request is, there are some default paint jobs for trucks in game which i would really like to transfer to other trucks. like saving all preset and applying. but for default paintjobs i cant save the coulours. for ex : the cardinal blue for the scania s series is one of my fav coulours and i would like to save it. so is there any site or tool that can give me the coulour codes ?

sorry for the long texts. hope you all have a wonderful day.

If your save file is corruped beyond repair there is nothing you can do. I highly recommend to make manual backups of your save file onto an USB drive in case Steam Cloud or your storage device mess up big time. But issues with your economy in the game are all coming through your mods.
ok got it. so if i turn of the cloud save and backup the local profile. i can reuse them in future right ? or will it become incompatible with the latest version ?

Yep, you can save single colours or you can save 'colour sets' in-game
no no. the problem is for vanilla colours. like i mentioned above, if you want to save a default colour like a Scandinavian blue for scania series there is no option to save the colour.
I think there's a colour tool which converts HSV to RGB and HEX. eg. plain red would be 255, 0, 0. etc.
You could screenshot the scania colour, open it in an image editor and get the RGB values from there?
or type in 'scandinavian blue' in google images. You'd have to 'mess' with the numbers because it won't be perfect, but then you can save it in your in-game colour palette and use it on any truck or trailer.

if you could give me more info about that tool, it would be really helpful. google images sucks in this case. i tried it before and the first thing it showed me was the colour of Finland. so yeah and again if more info on tool, it would be really helpful. thnx a lot. have a great day. also i will try it out with image editor. not sure how to do it though. if theres a tutorial link or something pls share.

Most decent image editors will have a 'toolbox' kinda sidebar. You can click on the foreground or background colour swatch and a box will popup giving you a 'colour ball' or colour palette to choose a colour from. It also shows information about the colour when you choose a colour. It'll certainly have RGB values and usually HSI (Hue saturation intensity).
It will depend on your monitor's colour profile, but the values should be reasonably close.
In-game you can directly enter those RGB values (or HSI values but RGB is easier to follow) when you're choosing a plain colour.
As far as the colour picker goes, it was always an online thing, but was abandoned a couple years ago. However, someone picked up the baton and I saved the html code, saved it as .html and dropped it on my GoogleDrive.
All you do is save it to your desktop or wherever and open it with a web browser of your choice.

What i always do when i can't find a colourcode in game because SCS has locked it and i want to know the various values for it that Photoshop understands, is make a simple mod with just the def file of the paint job and add or change true to false, then go in game and write them down.

edit:, there is no cardinal blue for any Scania trucks, but there is Ocean Blue, or Cardinal Red, assuming you know the difference between red and blue you mean Ocean Blue, right? :-)

RGB values
base: 231,236,255
flip: 16,27,67
flake: 231,236,255

Colour Converter is good for producing SCS values for those three :)
base: (0.8206, 0.8565, 1.0000)
flip: (0.0039, 0.0112, 0.0690)
flake: (0.8206, 0.8565, 1.0000)

a good flipflake setup too:
flipflake : true

flip_color : (0.15, 0.15, 0.15)
flake_color: (1, 1, 1)

flip_strength: 0.93
flake_uvscale : 20.0
flake_density : 1.6
flake_shininess : 30.0
flake_clearcoat_rolloff : 5.0
flake_noise: "/material/custom/flake_noise.tobj"

base_color_locked: false
flip_color_locked: false
flake_color_locked: false

The few Colour converters i've tried never gave me the right colours, but doing it manually like i do always does, so i've never really looked back at converters :-)
Not something i do every day, in fact the last few times it was to find them for others :-)

The values in your reply are completely different from the SCS ones btw:
base_color: (0.045186, 0.111932, 0.423268)
flake_color: (0.799103, 0.838799, 1.000000)
flip_color: (0.005182, 0.010960, 0.056128)

idk if that makes a difference in game, have to get to work.

Feel free to use my mod as a template to do the same thing for ETS2....to make it even simpler, all you have to do is edit every paint scheme to set all three levels at the bottom of the def to unlocked. The colours will then become visible when you pick that colour in the paint booth and you can download it to your saved colours to use on any truck.

Sorry...posted the one for the trailers by mistake....here is the truck one (although it is the same process for either)
