having a problem driving straight with a keyboard
So when i am driving, i use the A and D key to go right/left. Problem is, it usually over steers. So i am heading left by 10 degrees, I try and correct by hitting D, instead of going straight, i have gone past it and am going left by however many degrees. I have to keep pressing the A and D key to keep it on the road.
Is there any way to fix this without using a wheel or controller?

Try mouse steering. Edit: Make sure you set your mouse sensitivity to low.

The keyboard is pretty much the worst way to steer. Mouse steering is a bit better, I used to use it until I switched to a gamepad. Make sure you use a VERY low sensitivity for mouse steering with at least a 1/4 dead zone or it'll be too twitchy.

If you're dead set on using the keyboard, thats just gonna be the way it is.

Get a cheap 270 degree $50 wheel if you don`t want to spend $200 on 900 degree wheel, even this is miles better then any keyboard, gamepad or joystick.

Ya, I remember those days. You'll have to mess around with the dead zones and sensitivity.

I use a PS4 controller now and it's worlds better than trying to use a keyboard.

I have an xbox one controller. I just recall having issues with having enough keybinds. It has been a long time since ive tried that though.

An Xbox 360 controller was the best thing I bought for this game. I now have a Logitech G920, but the cost and space to set it up makes it more prohibitive. A cheap, durable, controller will improve your experience a ton, without costing much or being hard to set up. You will need quick access to the keyboard for having enough buttons to play the game with all functions, but a controller has enough for the main controls you would use while driving.

I know everyone hates on keyboard but it's my favorite way to play. I'm very precise on it now, but I do have to continually correct with A and D but that's just driving in general. There is a steering sensitivity slider in the options, so all I could really say is play with that until it feels better. I can look next time I play and see what mine's set at.

What's funny is I have the exact problem with oversteer but with controller. I tap left/right and go flying 90 degrees off the road. Sticking with KB+M all the way.

You might wanna give it a try. I just switched to a cheap Logitech gamepad last week and while you're right about the binds thing, having more control over steering and gas/brake is worth the trade off once you get used to it (only took me like 2 days).

There's my settings, and also steering wheel is set to realign to center by default.

I have 2 bumper buttons on the bottom. I can't seem to bind them though, id like to be able to shift with the controller, but idk what other keys to set up and downshift on.
