Humor me, convert cheap (RJ style) pedal connector to USB style connector to use with ATS/ETS..... Possible?
So I have a cheap PXN V3II 180 degree wheel and pedals combo laying around. Due to my laptop setup, I prefer steering with mouse and the analogue of pedals for accelerator and braking.

Currently, I hook that cheap ass USB wheel up with the pedals (pedals plug into the wheel with what looks like some kind of RJ connector), then in game I set it up so it ignores the wheel, but takes input from the pedals. Its a super bulky serup, Id like to take the wheel out of the equation.

Can I modify the pedals connector so I can use them on their own via USB, without the steering wheel? I'll gladly gut the internals of the steering wheel to make it work!

Can anyone advise me, point me to the appropriate subreddit, link, youtube, mail-order-outfit that can help me figure out how to do this, or if its even possible?

Any advice, links or insight is appreciated!

Thank you!

I've noticed most steering wheel setups the petals and/or shifter use some sort of 9-pin connection to the wheel, but PXN likes their RJ connectors. I just ordered a PXN as a cheap-ish wheel to mess around but haven't got it so I couldn't test any of this out. But you can get adapters. Will it work? Only if windows or PXN software can translate the info for just the pedals.

The issue I can see is I don't know what size of RJ connection it is. I found and RJ45 to USB adapter on amazon for $7. Cheap enough to get away with the experiment. That will be your network cable size. Or is it smaller like an RJ11? Or is it some sort of proprietary size? If you can figure that out then maybe you'll be in business.
