At this point i'm also not sure what they're even doing, ETS2 is kinda dead i'd say, and while they do focus ATS more, the only things they got going are just the long-awaited trucks (that at least have hope compared to ETS2 ones, god knows if they'll ever come) and more map DLCs. Feature-wise, they really have stagnated a lot, but i smell DX12 coming up so that might be the reason why.
The problem will solve itself if you don't post suggestions and stuff not under some blogposts, but in the scs forum which as an designated area for suggestions.

At this point, ETS2's map is nearly done. What's left are updates, improvements, adding DLC for things like trailers and accessories, etc. I doubt we'll see much in new trucks, since they already have versions of most now.
ATS, however, has over half the country left to map. They seem to have better relationships with truck manufacturers here; Freightliner/Western Star, Mack, and International have been added over the last few years. Peterbilt hasn't introduced a new truck in years. Kenworth's T680 Next Gen and W990, and Volvo's VNL, have been out for a while but none seem to be on the horizon to be added into the game.
To their credit, SCS has done ongoing updates, revised cities, changed and added roads, etc. And these have been at no cost. It's my opinion that while ETS2 has matured to the point we're only going to see updates and no big DLC's, ATS has room to grow. Look at the anticipation over the Texas DLC. And again, there's still half a country to do.
Not sure why you say this. The new VNL's were just confirmed to be coming to the game.

It says:
We also had the opportunity to capture important reference data for our Vehicles department's next project for American Truck Simulator, an updated version of Volvo Trucks' legendary VNL. Whilst we know many of you will be excited to hear this news (we're too!) please keep in mind that this project is still in the very early stages of development.
It's a matter of priorities. You make a lot of bad assumptions and like to state your opinion as fact but all you are really saying is that many others don't agree with your ideas and you think that, that's something wrong/bad.
It's not. It just means that most people don't want to buy what your trying to sell.
Maybe somebody else will make the sim you want someday; that doesn't make SCS and those who enjoy their products as is somehow wrong/bad. It's just a difference of priorities.
No need to cast any shade.
well, I am not so sure there is so much left to add to ETS2 if the West Balkans DLC is in... we're pretty much done by then
Vr for me is enough lol it's awesome how smoothly it is when driving about
Never looked at a map of Europe, then? Greece, for starters, Northern Norway, Finland, Sweden etc?
Ireland, Iceland, a full update of the UK? Heart of Russia still pending?
No, it's all been covered already.
Heart of Russia is not coming anytime soon, if at all... and The largest part of Scandinavia is already in, not sure what more you want there...
Oh and don't give out the political lecture, it's up to each individual whether they believe what has been termed wokeism or cancel culture is a good thing or not take a look back in history, and personally i didn't like what i saw,, it's not your perogative i'll just add given you decided this was needed, if cc pr or however you want to phrase liberal ideology was so cancerous for 1 of a better expression, why is it i and many others still have issue with total uncensored "free speech" without restriction?, anyway forget that's a topic that isn't going to be answered here or likely anywhere, my point is quit preaching i have my own intelligence to make up my own mind..simple as that
Continuous competing against your fellow Azerothian for a piece of gear, had to have a psychological effect, by design, I bet. You have to think about how many were being conditioned, to hate the other one there.
The gaming community took a hard turn to the south after that, by design.
For example, the high prices in a video game are there to simulate the constant struggle with money.
When you're starting out, you save up the x amount for this or that, now you're near broke again. Encouraging the need to get more money which is reinforced by the release of Dopamine after each sought after reward is achieved. Making it a psychological trap for those that are involved.
"As the rewarding experiences continue, the neuronal connections and memory connections associated with the euphoric experiences are strengthened and remodel the connections in the brain. When a video game addict stops gaming, the brain loses the stimuli that releases the same rewarding highs associated with the dopamine rush. The brain also adapts to the high levels of dopamine by developing what is known as tolerance. The brain produces less dopamine and/or reduces the number of dopamine receptors in the reward circuit, which decreases the enjoyment of the drugs and addictive behavior, requiring the addict to increase the drug or behavior to feel good and to feel normal." ~ Dr. Andrew Doan & Brooke Strickland

These gaming companies have been consulting psychologists on their boards for a LONG time... To keep you spending your money on them... By design...
