Parking Trainer Feature Request
Would be really nice to have some educational/training features in the game. One that I would really benefit from is a tutorial/training section for learning the proper techniques of parking and maneuvering. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to add and it would add a a huge amount of value to the game.

My Trucking Skills on Youtube should get you started.

Yeah, it's been asked since the release, but people get referred to Scania Truck Driving instead. Your best bet is probably some YouTube videos and practice, at least until Truck World releases promised free driving school.

But the entire game is one big lesson in "the proper techniques of parking and maneuvering." :lunar2019smilingpig:
I'd rather they spend their time on improving the game rather than just duplicating what is already here.

All you have to know about backing up in the game is use the #5 key view and steer the trailer wheels, not the trailer and use as little brakes as possible.
That's how I did it in real life before I retired. Oh, and practice a lot. 😄

^^^^^ perfect and simple advice. Once you get used to it you don't even need the 5 key :cozybethesda:

Isn't changing camera kinda cheating, one should be able to back up from cabin view and only change camera view when parked to have a look around.

thanks. I don't have a problem parking I just know that I could be doing it in a better/more professional way. That's why it would be nice to have an in game tutorial.

A game isn't really indicative of real life, but it can serve as a somewhat useful tool for some practice. But honestly, unless one has the money to really get a good setup with 3 screens to somewhat simulate a sort of sense of depth, you're not going to achieve close to the real feeling to driving.

I think if one does want to practice though, just get a cheap 53' dry van trailer, go to a random yard and just start practicing in the game. Probably the best way to do it.

Also, the #5 camera is just as if the driver was looking out the driver window behind to see the trailer, so I don't really call that cheating. It'd be the same as if you had moved your mouse all the way to the left to look out the window.
