Logitech Driving Force GT Force Feedback issue
Hi all, I have recently returned to the game after about a year or so being away. I have a Logitech DFGT Wheel that used to have perfect force-feedback before, but now there is an issue where the wheel is oscillating left to right on it's own at the center. It starts with the low/high speed autocenter turning it to one direction, and in a positive feedback loop it is jerked to the other side, then jerked back, continuing until I forcefully correct it.

I come from Simracing, so I am very aware that this is caused by the center ffb gain not being adequately set to account for the motor. As a bandaid solution, I have followed a similar thread that said to turn off the new (In game) force feedback auto center and enable the centering spring within Logitech Profiler. While that technically works, it is not ideal because the steering remains heavy while doing low speed maneuvers.

I just made this thread to see if anyone had an idea of how to possibly implement a LUT or some manner of a center ffb deadzone to fix the ingame auto center effect. The last thread I was looking at died so I figured I will try again, or at least see if anyone else is having a similar issue.

Most sim type games have this setting implemented within their settings, so it is frustrating having no in game way to adjust this setting, or at least a way to revert to the simplified force feedback system before the update. Thanks for reading, Cheers guys.

..also, some of the oscillation is caused by the ATS truck physics, so you'll need to reset the suspension stiffness and related setings AFTER getting setup with the LGS software (use default settings to start), and setting up your wheel controls IN ATS.

Thanks so much for the response. As it turns out, that was the solution.

For the reference of anyone else looking at this thread having a similar issue, the oscillation was being caused by the new FFB model being physics based, and a suspension stiffness/truck stability/trailer stability that is set at minimum directly influencing steering wheel movement.

In other words, my suspension stiffness, and truck/trailer stability setting was all set to the lowest with the slider all the way to the left. That made it so that when you turned even a bit, the truck would move, and thus that force would cause the wheel to move due to the new physics model. Turning up these sliders fixed everything.

I enjoy playing with low truck/trailer stability so I left those sliders the same and just turned up the suspension stiffness to maximum. That reduced the FFB oscillation to a minimal degree and made it less annoying.

Leaving truck/trailer stability high in addition to suspension stiffness completely removes the effect entirely, but does make steering slightly sluggish/less responsive. I'd say play around with it and decide what is acceptable for you.

Thanks again KingConrail, I am beyond elated. You are a god. :wololo:

Had the same issue somewhere between 1.41 and 1.43 versions .. tail wagging the dog, so to speak.

i use ghub bc any other software won't work.

update ghub to latest version and reset wheel\pedals in game options

As i guess the last time you played Was before they reworked the ffb ingame.
Have you reset those settings once already?

Yes I have, the other post recommended doing that but I had no luck. When I get in the game I will try again just in case

Yeah a weird nuiance with my wheel being so old means that no modern logitech software actually detects it. The modern version of Logitech Gaming software as well as Logitech G Hub doesn't work and I am stuck using a version of Logitech Gaming Software from a decade or so ago. That's not usually a problem, most simracing games work entirely fine, just this one seems to have no internal way to fix weird issues like this one.

I will check again to see if there's a way to get GHUB to work with a DFGT wheel but I highly doubt it based on previous research.
