Which Game Version do I have?
New to PC gaming and haven't played one since WOW and 18 Wheels of steel back in middle school. I've been getting into the MOD's for the game and am reading certain ones don't work with older version #'s. So how do I tell which one I have? I bought the game straight from Steam about 7 days ago, and have went into my GAMES section and loaded ATS to look for it, any help to a NOOBIE would be much appreciated.

Also when it comes to the MOD Manager in ATS, does priority level matter? how does that work? i thought it was just putting the ones you wanted to the right and calling it a day?

With running the game : should be displayed in one of the corner of the screen in the main menu
Without running the game : in the game.log.txt, find the line " American Truck Simulator init ver."

I don't use mods but I do know that the priority of the mods are important, and I think that that is important when coming to map mods - but that is what I think I remember read somewhere here around...

If you read the descriptions in the mods it will tell you if it needs to be at a higher priority than others. It is really only critical if you start adding maps as the game won't load if you don't have them in the right order.

Only get mods from either here on the Steam workshop or from the SCS forum; sites like atsmods and modsats are notorious for having either stolen paid mods or hacked mods that cause people all kinds of problems.

If you aren't sure whether a mod will work, just post a question here, most people are pretty helpful and friendly.

THANK YOU,

I stumbled across ATSMODS last night but didn't know if they were good ones or fishy, being that I wanted to add the Classic XL and Columbia to the roster of trucks.

Thanks again,
Matt

The Cascadia is supposed to be released by SCS sometime this year, although no one knows what model year they will release.

There is a 2018 version of it on the SCS forums but read the thread first as there are still some problems with it. It has been improved over the original mod but is nowhere near the quality of mods released by Viper, Harven or GTM.

I tried the Classic XL out a while ago as I like them too but it wasn't a very good mod.

I thought they were working on the Lonestar. When did they announce that?

Edit: Oops...hit post too soon...this was discussed to be ETA 2019 on the update call earlier in the year...no firm timeframe but after the Lonestar. There was a link posted here to a reddit feed with a transcript of the call but can't find it now

Looks awesome. Don't know how I missed it, but can't wait nonetheless.
