Best skills to max first
What skills should I max out first? right now i have long distance 3, high value 3, fragile 1, fuel economy 1, just-in-time delivery 1 and hazard class 1 with one skill point unused (level 11 almost lvl 12) Just curious as to what I should focus my skill points on to.

That is NOT what has been suggested, perhaps you should reread.

Eco Driving is useless unless you have a harsh economy mod...leave for very last

Hazmat is useful only to the extent that you get loads in cities than generate hazmat loads, not all cities do

Probably 3 in Long Distance is the most you should do until late in a profile...you already have too much

High Value you should max out
Fragile you should max out
Just in Time is useless if you do only WoT, otherwise good like High Value and Fragile if you are good at making it on time

Focus on what will get you better loads-long distance, high value, hazardous, fragile, just-in-time. Fuel economy is my "dump" category, the one I worry about last

alright, thanks. I also just leveled up to level 12 and am almost to level 13 thanks to a long distance load, so now I have 2 skills, probably gonna do a high value and a hazard

There is no magic formula, as how your profile develops depends to a great extent on where you are, which determines what loads are available.
Good rules of thumb are leave fuel economy until the very last, and don't let any skill get more than one beyond any other skill, 3 in long distance and 1 in high value and fragile is as unbalanced as you might get without hurting yourself. I'd do the opposite, 1 in long distance and 3 in high value and fragile pays better per mile.
Personally I tend to let hazmat lag behind as although it pays a bit more it is often unavailable, and the load that would have paid better is worthless if it does not exist, that of course dependent on where you are...some cities generate Hazmat loads, some don't.

Just to clarify each of the skills to (perhaps) help you decide:

Hazmat -- Each skill point opens a unique job-type. You can pick any of these in any order, they are not cumulative or additive.

Long Distance -- Each skill point increases the range as well as the payout bonus for said range.

High Value -- First skill point opens this job-type. Further skill points increase bonus.

Fragile -- First skill point opens this job-type. Further skill points increase bonus.

Just In Time -- First skill point opens "Important" job-type. Second skill point opens "Urgent" job-type. Further skill points increase bonus.

Eco Driving -- Skill points only reduce fuel consumption. No jobs opened or bonuses awarded.

Partly it depends on what sort of jobs you like to do, and whether you take them from the External markets.

If you do mostly WoT jobs then Just-in-time is useless and can be left until the end.

Ecodriving makes so little difference that that too can be left until last.

The Hazmat classes can be unlocked in any order so if there are particular types of cargoes you'd like to haul then unlock its class first.

The last couple of long distance pips may also be fairly useless depending on how many map DLCs you have, as journeys over 1,600 miles are not that likely and 2,500 miles may be impossible even with all of the current DLC (although if you have map mods they may create those opportunities).

As of now, I have long distance 4, high value 3, 2 hazards, 1 fuel, and i believe 2 fragile and 1 just in time, though it could be the opposite. I have leveled to 13, nearly to 14. From what I understand you are all saying to focus on long distance and high value? Bare in mind I only have Idaho and Oregon for extra Dlc's. meaning the longest distance i can do is from Arizona to the tip of Idaho. I also do not have WoT account and i don't do freight (I can't afford a trailer either, so the cargo market is out) yes i have my own truck, but rarely use it. I typically do long distance, high value jobs. I dislike doing the oversized loads and long loads (conjoined trailers) Also, my garage is in Pheonix, and I have no other garages. Am I understanding what you are saying correctly?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

just in time I never liked either I won't put any skill points in it because I don't want them to show in the job list

You do not need to own a box/van trailer to do freight jobs, in fact, you don't need to own trailers of any kind.

I thought eco driving is useless as it only affects the fuel consumption if you have turned the realistic fuel consumption off in the Gameplay settings...

I would suggest to get a good grasp of life skills first.

This too is true, but the larger issue is just that in a normal economy, even with realistic fuel consumption on/off fuel costs are insignificant anyway :lunar2019smilingpig:
You are gonna max them all eventually. But the first few to focus on (imo) High Value, Fragile, and long distance.

I made a mistake in my skill listing, I actually have long distance 3 and high value 4. and it is fragile 2 and just in time 1. I have also just leveled up to level 14 as I was in the middle of a 43k long distance quick job.

I am aware, and I meant that I don't like doing freight despite having a truck.
