How can I change which monitor ATS/Steam uses?
I have two monitors, my laptop and a 1080p flatscreen. My laptop monitor is the main monitor, and I don't want to change that. However, I do want to try using my TV for ATS, something I've not done before. Is there a way to tell Steam/ATS which monitor to use?

If you insist on keeping your laptop's display the main display, try Alt+Enter to enter windowed mode in ATS (or any game in fullscreen mode), then drag it to your TV.

Thanks, I'll give that one a try.

I know it's an old thread, but just in case someone else finds this on Google like I did.

You can change the monitor it starts on by editing your config file (C:\Users\<your windows username>\Documents\American Truck Simulator\config.cfg). The setting you're looking for is r_output (for me it was line 166). 0 is your primary monitor, 1 is your second monitor, 2 your third, etc.

Literally thank you for doing this. Like you said, I googled it and this was the first link.

Mine was weird. The default value when I opened my config file was "-1". If yours is set to this, I had to change it to "1" to get it to appear on my second monitor. I have two monitors running and I am on Win 11 with an Nvidia-3090

I can get it to move to the screen i want, but the screen is a 1440 and my primary is 1080. I can not for the life of me get the right resolution to show up in ATS.
