Fix the stupid rest areas!
Guys...American Truck Sim is awesome, it really is...but for years the rest areas have sucked. I just recently bought the New Mexico and Oregon DLC...I'm not using any mods, as vanilla as it gets...and three times now I've had issues in different parking areas trying to trigger the rest prompt. One truck stop area near Portland OR, has three parking spots, I've been spending forever rocking back and forth, even dropped my trailer, and can't get them to trigger, meanwhile my guy keeps constantly yawning and fading and its annoying as crap. It's been an issue for YEARS, and seriously it couldn't be that hard to go through and tune up the rest mechanics. How about make a use of that darned sleeper cab too finally? Anyway, keep up the good work but please this really kills the enjoyment. Obviously not everyone has this problem, but by searching I can tell that others have had the same issue over the years, whatever the cause is, and there's no doubt your parking system is awkward and frankly, sucks. Please fix it :-)

It is a known issue and will be fixed in a future game update.

The rest areas not triggering have not been an issue for years. This happened during a recent update.

In the meantime go to Options >> Gameplay and uncheck fatigue simulation until the issue is fixed. Yes it breaks immersion but not much you can do about it right now.

You must be the most condescendent player ive ever seen.

Resting issues are an issue since at least 1.33 (i dont know in 1.32 since i came back when 1.33 was released). So yeah, at least two large years. Its a incredibly annoying problem. Sometimes you wait to the last minute to find a resting spot to discover you can't rest at all because of this.

Large trailers are even more problematic.

This is just another problem added to the list of issues that keep being ignored for reasons we will never understand.

Not ignored, they are acknowledged along with other bugs that are reported in a manner requested by SCS, not in rants that provide none of the information needed.

Just to add a touch of reality, 1.32 was released September 2018, 1.33 was released in December 2018. Nowhere near "two large years".

Condescendent? No. Some people just try to help with facts and evidence.
If that bothers you, that's your problem.

Really? Because from that statement, you seen like the most condescendent. Just turn off fatigue, pull in and wait a bit for time to advance.

When I pull into a parking slot the game tells me I have to press 'E' to shut down the engine before the sleep trigger shows up.

Still broken. Exact rest stop that was in the OP. Never fixed. Just to add a touch of reality, this is 2020 and rest areas STILL don't trigger properly.

And there are also some that still have the wrong time scale (like you back your truck into the parking spot and two hours have passed).

There's a work around, so you can rest and not turn off fatigue. If this rest issue happens what I would do is find a spot where I can park my trailer then unhook. Take my truck to the designated rest area... then the rest option will be triggered and you can rest. Just make sure you park your trailer somewhere its easy to hook to. I hope this work around helps while waiting for a fix.
